Hey come on Dillon. I'm considering buying this so I think a truthful and accurate review would be great. What happened to free speech ? If others don't like what you written then tough.

Have you seen the pictures.................eewww

Dunno about Perfect Flight, but I do know that Bill Grabowski's MD-11 will be the best. Go to www.fsnordic.net, discussion, ERJ-145 forum and then look for the MD-11 Panel posts. I think you'll be happy with what's coming.Gavin

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Thanks for your post on the MD-11. I am also having a problem with the MD-11 from Prefect Flight. I don't mean to bash anyone. I just want some help in dealing with a trim problem. I am a newbie who fly boeings quite well. I have never flown a MD-11 in simulation world. I am able to take-off fine. My problem begins when the flaps are brought and the climb rate is good. The plane just for some reason take a nose dive. I wrote Perfect Flight and asked if there was a tutorial and their reply was very minimal(you have to adjust the trim). What I really needed was some help on how that should be done correctly. I am afraid that I have brought this and can't fly it. Any help gladly accepted? Thanks,Rangrod

Now, that L1011 project will interest me, that has long been my favorite aircraft, since the time I was able to tour one back in the 70's. What really impressed me was how quiet it was when it took off. I worked near the airport it was being displayed at and unlike the 707's of the time, (very loud on take off) the L1011 was almost whisper quiet. And speaking of the 707 where is a good pro model of this aircraft, my second favorite.Stephen,http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Steve, HJG has some excellent models together with very good panels and sounds and lots (and lots) of repaints. There's a link on the main Avsim page. If you're looking for payware, CS is coming out with one. Believe me, I'll be getting it day one. :-)billg

I purchased this because I've always wanted to fly a fed-ex md-11 with a VC(!!!) and am a bit disappointed. It is extremely hard to keep the bird going on the taxiway, the VC view is way too low, I feel as if the cockpit is as low as a beechcraft, the VC model does not match up with the exterior model (things look farther away in the VC than they actually are in the 2d panel and outside, i look outside the VC at an airplane 10 feet infront of me but when i go to the outside view that airplane is somehow beneth my airplane???), and the gauges are just default ms gauges...But other than those problems that could be fixed I am a very happy camper, just glad to fly that airplane with a VC!!

why buy something when you can get million times better for free ?:-rollIMHO 24$'s for a bird you can get free is a rip-off. To the looks of the screenshots the visual model and the panel looks horrible, I wouldn't take that PF MD-11 even for free. There is even a 100 times better panel for free which is the Alain Capt's panel updated to FS2004 and the new upcoming Bill's MD-11 panel.Yes the iFDG MD-11 doesn't have a VC, but still I wouldn't pay 24$ for just to fly from the VC :-roller Jani

The visual model leaves alot to be desired for a>payware product. Very disappointing.>Perfect Flight products are unable to dissapoint as expecations are extremely low.- Oyvind

The visual model isn't nearly as good as the iFDG or Simmer's Sky MD-11 .... I dare you to compare screenshots!! :-eek :-eek I'm no MD-11 expert, but the PF MD-11 isn't as accurate as the free variants!Download either the iFDG MD-11 or the Simmer's Sky version ... both are very good, and both are FREEThe moral of this story is: not everything with a price tag is going to be good! Don't assume that payware is automatically better than freeware! :)

Thanks, I looked over HJG yesterday, and found a lot of 707's and downloaded an American Airline version from 1975. I haven't got to try it out but it looks good.Stephen,http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I never said payware is better than freeware, I love freeware, the problem is that 99% of freeware now has no VC. and I just can't fly a plane without a VC. This is the only reason I rushed out and purchased the perfect flight md-11... if they can hammer out those minor problems it would be very good. I have no trouble with the model either, it isnt perfect yes but still very beautiful
