i put together a quick mod for the Virtual cockpit using these payware guages. To me it looks better but thats just me. In addition i also added FMC, MCU and HSI controller in 2d popups.

 

Warning: with the ESHI on the vc i dont know what values i have to change make the guage fit in the window better. Its just a little to big, so if anyone knows how i would love to know.

 

please make sure you backup your origional panel cfg!!

well i first used the realityxp GNS 530 as a popup window as my FMC and it works great. If a full working intergration of the realityxp 430 becomes available i will get the 430.

 

When it comes to the ISG i use the GNSXLS fmc with the MCU. It also works very well however even with an up to date datablase it doesnt have airports like 0s9 or 7s3 that i can enter.

 

so what i am doing now is using the realityxp GNS530 as my fmc (2d panel) and i use ISG ADI and EHSI intergrated into the VC.

 

To me i think the ISG guages look better so it was worth it to me. It looks like a few others have already done this themselves.

 

Ardee(who posted above this) gave me the values needed to make the EHSI fit in the window of the VC perfectly so now i am much more pleased.

Sorry, but that looks terrible and is totally unrealistic. This aircraft doesn't even have a FMC. I think the panel, as it is, is basically a great panel. Just needs better lighting and a few other minor fixes. But apart from that, I think your mod goes way too far. It's like putting the PMDG 737NGX heads-up display system on a bi-plane.

I could care less how realistic or unrelistic you think it is. Its functionality I achieve! I dont believe in the "unrealistic" default nav devises using 8yr old navdata. I also have a RealityXP GNS530 version if that so pleases you.
