HGS

Featured Replies

Ryan: first many thanks for your help with my account. I appreciate your quick response.

Second, my PMDG 737NGX is running perfectly with one exception. My HGS swings into and out of position without a problem, but the screen is not populated with anything at all. NO symbols ever, no lines,no nothing I believe, but cannot be certain that I have done all required in setting the HGS up correctly.

Is there some control separate from the HGS input device for 'connecting' the device. I have Cleared and re-Cleared to no avail.

Am I missing a dll or exe or is it just finger trouble.

KInd regards,

Ian McPhail

1: look at the HGS panel behind the radios on the pedestal & make sure the CLR button is not illuminated. That will clear the display if it is.

2: there's a brightness knob on the combiner mount, near the hinge latch. Try turning it to make sure it isn't just too dim.

3: if neither of those fixes it then you have a problem in a file called "dll.xml"

Register at http://support.precisionmanuals.com and open a support ticket. Attach that file to the ticket and explain your problem. They'll fix the file & send you a modified dll.xml to replace the file on your computer.

I can only apologise. I even mentioned where I thought the problem might be but I yelled before I looked.

Fortunately before redownloading and re-installing I had made a backup of the Appdata\Roaming folder. The entry after the reinstall was incomplete, so I dragged and dropped the entry from the saved dll into the new dll and all seems to be well.

Now I have to learn how to use the b....y device.
