April 16, 201214 yr Prior tot he latest update my voice package was working beautifully. After the update I can hear everything but no one can hear me. I have followed the recommendations in the FAQ and still nothing. Something interesting; in my speech recognition log I have the following:Current Task: Creating the Critical Section Object... SUCCEEDED! Windows 7 Service Pack 1 [unknown Flight Simulator] Current Task: Creating the ISpRecognizer object... SUCCEEDED! Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows (English - US) Current Task: Creating the ISpRecoContext object... Error Code: 0x80045003 The error code concerns me and is it the basis for me problem? April 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Richard, Did you recently run a program called "Systems Mechanic"? It's known to damage SAPI in Windows. Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
April 17, 201214 yr Author Yes exactly, how do I fix it? Richard Spencer Churchill PVT SEL GYSGT USMC (ret)
April 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member You can try doing a "Systems Restore" to the point prior to when you ran Systems Mechanic. Systems Mechanic damages the Microsoft Speech Recognition API (SAPI). Any program that uses SAPI on your computer will be affected, not just FS2Crew. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
April 18, 201214 yr Author Bryan I did what you suggested. I went to the history in System Mechanic and did a system restore a day prior. I am getting the same result with the same message in the log ssection. Any other suggestions. I disable Systems Mechanic prior to the restore. April 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Richard, I'd suggest asking System Mechanic support. I'm not really an expert on their software. They are aware of this issue though as I've discussed it with them. Push comes to shove you may just have to do a clean install of Windows. B. April 18, 201214 yr Author Oh ###### I don't want to do that, this is a brand new system and I just reloaded all my flight sim and I am still not finished. What aggravates me Bryan is that Dell recommended System Mechanic. I have used SM previously with your other products with no effect and curious why now. I have not tried JS41 since the trouble started I probable will have to check it out. Richard Spencer Churchill PVT SEL GYSGT USMC (ret)
April 19, 201214 yr Commercial Member The other FS2Crew programs you used probably didn't use voice control. System Mechanic only affects Voice Control. And all programs on your computer that use Microsoft Speech Recognition like Vox ATC or any of the other 'voice' programs out there will no longer work as well. Best bet is to contact System Mechnanic for advice if you don't want to re-install Windows. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
