April 18, 201214 yr Greetings to all, I have seen several posts that refer to a "Maximum" graphics setting. I only have Low, Medium, and High. Does flight offer a "Maximum" setting based on graphic card specs? I have an ATI HD 4650 with 1 GB of RAM. Thanks, Les
April 18, 201214 yr I think OMGBBQ32 already answer to this question here http://forum.avsim.n...phics-settings/ Antonello M.
April 18, 201214 yr I think OMGBBQ32 already answer to this question here http://forum.avsim.n...phics-settings/ Yes I did, but I might as well say it here. Maximum is only allowed on x64 OS. Even then, you may not have Maximum allowed. This is because your settings are not capable to operating on Maximum. April 19, 201214 yr The official word from the developers: “Maximum settings are available under the following conditions: You have 3GB or more of physical RAM AND you have either a 64-bit OS, or a 32-bit OS with the /3G switch turned on. We highly recommend everyone runs with a 64-bit OS if they can as it gives Flight access to up to 4GB of RAM instead of 2GB. The /3GB switch for 32-bit OSes will give Flight access to 3GB instead of the normal 2GB, which is enough to run maximum settings but it could cause problems with older programs. "Flight is large address aware, but it needs to be enabled by both the application and the OS for it to work. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
April 19, 201214 yr You can change the settings directly in Flight.cfg. Set "Custom=1" in the [Configuration] section. George
April 19, 201214 yr With custom=1 I changed these settings and have very smooth play with good looks , in my opinion. AntialiasingQuality=2 ShadowQuality=MEDIUM LodRadius=5.000000 The other base settings are on HIGH. I might have made some more changes i dont remember. For easy try . http://www.gamefront.com/files/21581357/Flight.CFG It runs very well with a Ati 4850 on 1920-1200 , am surprised with it trees dont pop in so much , is very progressive and all the shading still looks very good. Maybe they work for you too ?
April 19, 201214 yr Afaik custom=1 is only needed when you want to use other programs like nVidia Inspector with Flight. Changing settings in the cfg itself can be done with Custom=0. BTW Setting shadows te MEDIUM can be done from within the game, of course: no need to edit that in the cfg.
April 19, 201214 yr If you make changes in game for example sharpness to high or medium it cahnges about 5 settings in the cfg , if i then change 1 setting in the cfg it overpaves that when i start the game. With custom=1 i can change 1 setting individually and it will stay there , because it stops the game automatically updating the settings to def profiles like HIGH or MEDIUM.

Didn't know that. I stand corrected. Quite interesting...! Thanks for the explanation.
