April 18, 201214 yr I'm trying to set up the FPS Limiter 0.2 utility to see if that helps my framerate issues... I do have Java installed, and the GUI works correctly. Selected the correct fsx.exe executable and options, and created the batch file, which looks correct based on what I've found on Google... But when I try to run the batch file, it simply flashes the command prompt window for a moment and fails to load FSX. If I type out the exact "start" command at the command prompt adding /B to the start command so that it opens in the same command window (rather than flashing a separate one), I can see that it's saying it's unable to create the process or something to that effect. Is this supposed to work on Vista Ultimate 64-bit? Is the FPS Limiter supposed to be installed in its own separate directory? Do I configure the shortcut to the batch file to run from the FPS_Limiter directory or FSX? Any other ideas why this might not be working? Contents of fsx.exe.limited.bat: start E:\"Flight Simulator X\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:OFF /l:OFF "E:\Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Declared weather: FSX: ASN / FS9: ASE
April 19, 201214 yr Use DXTORY, much easier to use or if you have a Nvidia card use the framelimiter in Nvidia Inspector or even simpler: go back to the good old FSX internal frame rate limiter like i did: smooth and no stutters or other problems if you use the Software and Hardware guide for FSX users : http://forum.avsim.net/topic/370595-link-to-software-hardware-guide-for-fsx-users/ With kind regards, Bart S.
