Still amazed at the detail

Recommended Posts

I have still not been back to FSX and waiting for Alaska. The detail is stunning and feels just right to me. I will venture back to FX9 and 10 one of these days, they are still on my system.

I agree!

Though in this screen-shot the full detail hasn't settled yet (I believe it's a bug with slow rolling-in detail). This screenshot was taken in the first week of flying with Flight.

The moon was out in the night scene below. I love the details of the panel, and the fact that you can turn the dimmer knob on the instrument panel lighting. It's not simply

on or off.

The water is incredible. It has a sense of depth. I was able to achieve something close to this with the REX 2.0 add-on for FSX, but default FSX was no-where near as nice.

I remember people complaining that the 3D modeling on MS Flight was "utter crap" - I beg to differ.

Also, unlike FS9 and FSX the antialiasing is excellent with MS Flight, FINALLY smooth!

The forests were simply amazing! Eye candy all around.

I do like it, but there is certainly room for improvement. I just hope they get the time, and care to devote the effort.

@Air1 You have truly impressed me! Them's is some honkin' big pictures!! :LMAO:

Nice pics gang!

Allright let's try it this way:

Nothing like an early morning relaxing flight in the Stearman.

In this picture, you see true custom scenery of the type you expect to see in a modern Sim instead of transplanted/modified FSX auto-gen. Flight needs a lot more of this IMHO (or much better auto-gen) to stand tall with the best of the third parties.

Dang I tried to upload one, but keeps getting cut off a lot on the right hand side.

Then you probably have to lower the resolution before uploading. I usually make a small version at 640 pixels wide and then link it to the original sized screenshot. If you only want to upload one version here, keep at a max of 1024 pixels wide: the forum software will be able to fit it into the posts and you will be able to click on it to see it at 1024 pixels.

Air1 could use some resize tool too.

Thanks Jeroen,

I just went back and uploaded it to Photobucket and linked it here, probably better anways as less overhead here at Avsim - seemed to come through fine then.

Loving your screenshots, guys :)

I personally enjoy flying mostly in bad weather, so here's my contribution:

Oh yeah! Some awesome shots, Eevun! That bad weather looks great! I usually fly with the Low and threatening theme and one of which I always forget the name. Inclement weather maybe... It's bad weather, it rains, but you can still fly the Maule in it.

Oh there we go, Eevun. That 3rd shot was what I was trying to find. Those hairline scratches in the windshield, that is a beautiful and subtle touch in MS Flight.

I tried to find my screenshots of those, but couldn't. But glad you uploaded one.

And here was a really cool shot I took. When I did that mission to take the astronomer above that thick soup of clouds. I got chills seeing this out of the plane. I thought it was all pretend and there wasn't really anything there, then there it was as she was talking about. Love that touch by the MS Flight team.

I love flying through the stormy weather too!

I did actually check to see if I could get in them :)

I suspect strongly that there will be a video and screenshot explosion when Alaska finally hits.
