Thanks for all the advice. It was a total freak incident, and I totally forgot to back the files up elsewhere.

Part of me assumed the EDS was available at purchase only, and I had every intention to back the files up. Then I got engrossed and I just ended up forgetting to do it.

The response was fast, so I'd like to thank PMDG and apologise for swearing at my computer in relation to them. Hopefully to appease that I will definitely be purchasing the 777 & 747 projects due for release.

Also I have ensured to make backups already.

Thanks to all again

Thanks

Matthew,

Would highly recommend looking into a cloud backup service like http://www.crashplan.com - I use that one myself. It's $50 or so a year and you know nothing can permanently kill your files because they distribute copies out across a bunch of different datacenters all over the place. Even if some freak thing happened like the whole datacenter getting destroyed by a tornado, fire etc, you'd still have your stuff somewhere else geographically. There's a bunch of different services like this, but I like Crashplan the best because it also lets you do incremental back up to external HDs, other computers across a network etc. Very nice software.

I just purchased Acronis True Image to completely backup my FSX computer and both of its hard drives. If a Tornado hits then I am out of luck but I do have house insurance and a long list of addons on my gmail account so looks like I am covered after all.
