  1. When was your last go-around? Saturday afternoon at EGLL/LHR What was the reason? Aircraft still on the runway (LH A321) Do you usually fly the full IFR missed approach procedure to holding or just re-position visually or via vectors? Depends. This time I vectored out to be re-sequenced. Landed about 10 minutes later. Did you screw up or bust a restriction on your last Go-around? Nope Also do you routinely use the some sort of "traffic zapper" if AI traffic gets in your way? Nope, I just keep my speed back as best I can to create separation. If this isn't possible then I will execute a missed approach. On a side note, I executed a missed approach at Geneva on the next flight as I was unstable on final approach. Such is life in Flight Simulator. I should add that my last real world go-around was last year now. This time it was a PA-28 that hadn't cleared.
  2. We should all remember that the product is still in beta. Whilst it's nearing completion, it isn't a finished product yet. Wait and see would be my advice on the matter.
  3. It's just the 200LR & Freighter I believe.
  4. Release will be in 5 weeks, for $29 and a box of glazed doughnuts.
  5. I only use ENB, and I like it as it's quite simple to modify. That being said, it is very easy to overdo it. By that I mean I only just noticed whilst flying the NGX yesterday, that I'd made parts too dark and I could hardly see the strobe lights illuminating the ground.
  6. Whilst it may not be relevant, there is also an app called FSXFollow. Whilst it doesn't have any kneeboard functions like that, it does operate like a passenger moving map which is sometimes fun. You just download the app to iPad/iPhone etc as well as the program from their website (the app is a small amount, the web program is free).
  7. I'll be in LHR.
  8. It's a 200LR in all but the name. Both the 200F & 200LR share the same airframe, engines and fuel capacity. I think the only difference is payload which is only around 800lb more for the 200F.
  9. This link may help http://forum.avsim.net/topic/397887-crash-to-desktop-caused-by-pmdg-737ngxdll/
  10. I thought that too. I have noticed a few NGX vids on YouTube that in use in P3D.
  11. Whilst this is sound advice...I'd be very, very surprised if that PC didn't run the 777.
  12. No surprise if they go with folding wings, especially since it was proposed for the original 777. Also, what a bloody huge wingspan!
  13. Yes and no. I only say that because in the UK, 70-80% of the flights I've flownon, the crew didn't select the landing lights on until just prior to finals or until on final approach itself. At times when I've been at an airport (UK), I've often not seen landing lights illuminate until the aircraft was cleared to land (unless it was a late clearance, in which the crew had already selected the lights on).
  14. It would be interesting to get a pulse option available with the NGX, for realisms sake when flying certain airlines.
  15. You mad? That's nearly 3 times the cost of the NGX base pack. I wouldn't want to pay more than £50 for the base pack.
  16. Makes sense. Thanks
  17. That is a new one, usually only seen on the golden oldies from time to time. I have to say I only regularly see a 1-2%N1 discrepancy at any one time.
  18. I'm probably doing it wrong perhaps, but I always set the MCP IAS window to V2+20 (172 in your case) since I don't plan on going slower than that anyway. After that I'll engage one of the vertical modes (usually VNAV) and accelerate to 250kias unless otherwise stated in the flight plan.
  19. I just KNEW it would be something like that. I shouldn't be allowed out unsupervised. Thank you Mike.
  20. Hi everyone. I recently had issues with corrupt files somewhere I couldn't locate within FSX, so I un-installed and did a complete re-installation of everything (I ensured to un-install all addons at that time too). I've not long re-installed the NGX, and I've having an issue with the slats. The actual leading edge isn't extending, whilst the rest of the mechanism is animated. I didn't know whether to post my e-mail & order number, but will do if required. I did look in the support section but couldn't find anything regarding this. I was hoping it was a quick fix hence why I posted here. Edit: I would like to add that I haven't been asked for my serial number which I found to be odd. I have tried re-installing the NGX after un-installing it again but to no avail.

They dropped the Newark-Singapore route last year I believe. At least they announced it was finishing. There is an SQ flight out of JFK that stops in Frankfurt I believe (that ran alongside and will continue).
  22. Oh yes I do agree. If I came across as sounding like the QW products were less than satisfactory, that wasn't meant at all. I own the Avro series and it is absolutely phenomenal what they have done with it. They are certainly in the PMDG ballpark I agree, along with Majestic Software after looking at their Q400 previews.
  23. Some joysticks have a sort of pressure detection in the trigger itself. I know my X52 has a "2 position" mechanism on the trigger. Lightly and it will apply a small amount of braking, whilst a full press will apply maximum braking. I'm not sure if that's entirely true of course, but it seems to work in my world. Also just to clarify on the pushing the rudder pedals away from you, that's not strictly true. Yes manual braking is activated by pushing on the rudder pedals, but they actually pivot at the top to apply the brakes. So pushing on the bottom of the pedals will do nothing for you. They are basically toe brakes, so you press on the top of the pedals to pivot them away from you. This is why when landing a real aircraft, you should always have your heels to the floor so you don't accidentally force resistance on the mains when touching down. That wouldn't be a pleasant experience otherwise.
  24. You don't need to switch it to the off position to take over manual braking. Rather just apply manual braking to the sufficient pressure, and the autobrakes will be de-activated automatically. Just remember to flip the switch to off when you get to the gate or something.
