  1. Hey everyone, I would like to create a thread for only QW 787 FSX First Impressions and Feedback. Please try to keep discussion within these parameters. I know lot of simmers are excited about this release. Lot of threads go into FSX vs P3D etc. and I humbly request we all do NOT go there. Bug reporting should be minimum, as they have official forum support on QW site and those conversations should go there. Excited to read your feedback about this addon.
  2. Hi, I recently purchased the Qualitywings 787 for P3DV4, and I am more or less enjoying it so far. One of the things I am seeing is when I engage the autopilot and turn a random heading, and FLCH to 10,000 ft, it puts severe inputs into the control column, causing the nose to violently push up and down. It never reaches the altitude. Can anyone help me with this?
  3. My first long haul in the 787 and I have to say it was great! Though it isn't quite the level PMDG aircraft are at it is still a wonderful plane.   5. Hi there, How do I flare the TDS 787 on landing? Something is not right. Almost as soon as my back wheels touch the ground, the nose wheel slams straight down, making it almost impossible to make a smooth landing. Any help is greatly appreciated. :)
  6. Some Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 powered 787s will have their ETOPS capability downgraded from tomorrow. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are set to publish an Advisory Directive slashing the maximum time radius affected aircraft are permitted to fly from a diversion airfield from 330 minutes to just 140 minutes. The directive follows a series of failures and in-flight shutdowns on the Trent 1000 C powerplant, which engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce says are due to premature wear in the intermediate stage compressor and turbine blades and seals. The 787 became only the second airliner type, after the Boeing 777, to receive the full 330 minute ETOPS rating in 2014. However, even that followed an earlier setback when problems with the all-electric jet's lithium-ion batteries led the FAA to limit its rating to 180 minutes in 2013. ETOPS certification permits twin-engined aircraft to operate further than 60 minutes flying time from any suitable diversion airfield, essential for opening up long-haul routes over sparsely populated areas. As an aircraft built around the premise of operating low-density long-haul routes, many airlines operating the affected 787-9s face the prospect of severe flight planning restrictions until the problems are resolved. The 330 minute rating opens up almost the entire globe to twin-engined aircraft, with only a few 'no-go' areas in the most remote parts of Antarctica. 330 minute ETOPS. The dark area over Antarctica represents the only remaining 'no-go' area Limiting the B787 to 140 minute ETOPS, however, rules out flights from the USA to Hawaii and across some areas of the Pacific, as well as the central and south Atlantic and southern Indian oceans. With a 140 minute ETOPS rating, the number of 'no-go' areas are vastly increased Whilst the majority of US-based 787-9 operators use the General Electric GEnx engine, which is unaffected by the changes, Japan's ANA operate 28 Trent 1000 powered 787-9s and British Airways operate the type on its ultra-long haul route to Santiago amongst others. Boeing estimate that up to a quarter of the global 787 fleet could be affected. The FAA directive follows an EASA Airworthiness Directive calling for more frequent inspections of Trent 1000 C engines, just days after Rolls-Royce themselves advised operators the affected engines would need to be inspected monthly.

Hey guys, as you may know, the 767-300ER has gone into retirement but got something to sit in place and take their position which is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which AmeriCay have Inquired 2 for the time being, not sure if more will be in but here are my shots on the first Inaugural flight to Paris my favourite route if I do say so myself. On Climb out from Miami Airspace. Some weather below but smooth ride on the climb. Gotta love Active Sky In Bermuda Airspace in the Dusk Setting. Pretty Flight Deck eh? Sky Interior Lights in action Descending into France Airspace at Dawn time. Lots of clouds, had to check in the metar, metat did say it was clear and calm The countryside can be seen below. Speed was a bit high so had to depend on speed brakes to slow me a bit down. On final. No backtracking shots since had traffic on Approach for the same runway and went through the After-Landing Checklist. Here we are at Terminal C (C8) Ground Crew offloading Luggage Containers. Them RR's look really intimidating.
  8. Hello, I have the Aerosim 787 and I can't change my V/S. It is literally blank. I have tried reinstalling and etc, but nothing has really worked. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  9. Okay, I'm a greedy pig and I want it all ! I use Aerofly FS2 for VR, X-Plane has been my primary sim for past few years and I was in FSX before that.. so now i'm adding P3D V4 to my sim collection mainly for widebodies (and hopefully the ATR-72-600 when it comes out).. So I have some knowledge of ESP platform and what to expect.. but absolutely no experience with P3D as such.. so lot of questions on what add-ons to get etc.. need all of your guidance and advice to get me onboard ! My system specs in my signature (i7 4.4GhZ, GTX 1070) are pretty decent.. and budget is not an issue.. so I need to know what stuff to buy to get the best eye candy.. 1. The first add-on I have set my eyes on is the QW 787.. how is the performance, esp at night w/dynamic lighting? why doesn't it have wheel chocks like PMDG 747? 2. Is dynamic lighting still a performance issue in 4.2? will 4.3 fix it? Can i turn OFF shadows, clouds etc at night to allow dynamic lighting? I absolutely need bright apron lights for my Asian airports at night.. so turning OFF dynamic lighting is not an option for me.. 3. Do i absolutely need PTA or will the new tomato mod suffice or even be better? 4. I had MyTraffic 6 in FSX.. should i reinstall that or is Just flight global a better option? if so, why? 5. I had REX in FSX.. stick with it or get AS16 + cloud art? 6. Will bring over FTX global and HD trees for sure. do i need ORBX vectors/regions/etc? I mostly fly long hauls.. 7. GSX - looking forward to level 2 expansion.. but in its current version, does it provide VDGS or only marshaller.. didn't see too many youtube videos with VDGS.. also, the parking is always misaligned with the markings.. is this something one can configure using GSX parking editor? I used to be able to do this in AES.. 8. Can i get 25-30 fps on final approach into KSFO HD on QW 787 with medium graphic settings? Just want to know where 4.2 stands on performance at this point.. 9. Will get chaseplane for camera system & FSUIPC for multiple joystick profiles. 10. any other must have add-ons for long haul wide body flights? I meant other than aircraft add-ons.. like smart utility tools that enhance the sim.. for e.g does chase plane do replays the way FSrecorder used to do?

Extra 2 second pause after FO reads "Notes" in the Before Taxi checklist. Flaps 20 and 25 in the -8 Model fixed. Looping lights issue fixed if auto-light control selected for 18,000 or 10,000 feet. Button Control: Taxi and turnoff lights command fixed. If auto-light config option selection, FS2Crew will now skip over the "Lights Off" prompt in button control at 10,000 or 18,000 feet based on your config selection. Autopilot MCP commands for Speed, Heading and Altitude fixed if "CONFIG ALLOW MCP COMMANDS WITH AUTOPILOT ON" selected to off. New Config Option for VATSIM users: "ON-LINE ATC XPONDER". Set it to YES if using VATSIM. When set to Yes, the FO will turn on the transponder during the BEFORE START FLOW. After Landing, he will leave the transponder on. Button control: Flaps 15 was missing during the approach. It has now been added to the sequence. Gear down and Flaps 20 commands are now combined into a single command in Button Control. Voice control: For the autobrake challenge in the Descent Checklist, do not speak "Level" for the autobrake setting. Just say the value. Example: "Three". When FO presses buttons on the overhead, button sounds will now play. Checklist modified slightly to make them more Boeing standard. A few items are now automatically responded to by the FO since they fall under his area of responsibility. Tutorial and Main Ops Manuals updated to account for all changes above. Manuals are now at V1.1.
