At last I managed to find a suitable headset, a Plantronics Blackwire C210 single earpiece type, which is fine for me as I need to hear the speakers. The mic on this headset is excellent - I listened to it through my speakers as a test and it is very clear.

 

Now I've just got to learn all the responses to get smooth flying. At present I need to keep referring to the flow sheets for the correct response.

 

One thing I have found is that very occasionally the FO doesn't hear me. I think this may be due to my having the speakers fairly loud trying to simulate a RL 737 cockpit. I'll try turning them down and see if that helps.

 

This definitely is better than the button version. I particularly like how you can get the FO to change the various MCP settings. :good:

Don't worry, after a few goes you won't need the flow sheets anymore.
