PMDG Precision Manuals Development Group 737 Boeing 737 737NG Next Generation

Featured Replies

Hi I am a new subscriber to this site, I would like to ask if anyone else out there has tried using the PMDG 737 NG with Fs 2004? If they have , have they experienced trouble with the sound. When I start off, mine sounds fine until I go to an outside view. The sound then goes to scratchy crackling and I have to stop the flight and re-start to get the sound back to normal. This then remains so until a different view is selected. Has anyone experienced this, if so what is the cure. The programme flies no problems at all in Fs 2002. This is a phenomena that is peculiar to Fs 2004thank you for your timeHossman

Hello :)I have not had these issues but try this:1. Set sound quality to the highest setting in FS2004.2. Get the latest sound drivers for your card.See if that works. Also, which sound card do you have?

Yes it is related to users of the SOUNDBLASTER SERIES of cards. You will need to download the newest ref drivers for a cure, I know because I was one of the first with this problem...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. I agree with Randy. I had the same sound problems when switching from outside to inside views on the PMDG 737. I have a soundblaster card and after loading the latest drivers, no more scratchy sound problems.

Gentlemen, many thanks for your speedy and informative replies. I amn currently running a Soundblaster Live sound card, and so I am off to find some new drivers....or a new card.thank you once againHossman

Here's the link to the drivers http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp . Be sure to download both the drivers and the patch as you'll need to install them both. I had the same problem with the same card and these drivers fixed it, but only after the patch was also installed.Doug

I have the same problem with a SB card. I've tried the drivers, but I still have the problem - and it does it with just about any aircraft in FS2004 now.I'm going to try reinstall the drivers, and see what happens.BTW, instead of quitting and restarting, if I change the view a bunch of times, the sound problem eventually stops. Of course I have to hit "Q" a few times too, so that the sound doesn't drive me crazy. :-grr

Run DXDIAG and set the sound accelleration to basic. It should fix the problem.

Hi Shane , thanks for the advice, I have the forthcoming weekend off so i can afford some time to sort this matter out. My current sound card is the Soundblaster Live. However, I am now looking to upgrade to the audigy 2 7.1 card.Hossman
