When in VC, I display the Instrument window and and then when I recycle my views ('S') and come back to the VC, the window is now gone.. I have to use the mouse and click on the VC gauge to pop the window back.

 

What do I need to do to freeze the window once I open it until I spectically ask it to dissappear? Anything in Panel.cfg that I could change to make this happen.

I believe Type=Special is the correct addition to the gauge's entry in the panel.cfg like you are thinking.

That stops it from ever closing unless commanded to, it will stay open even in external views.
