May 1, 201214 yr Hi everybody, I have a problem with the FMC of the J41: I am currently at BIBA in Iceland and apparently this airport is not within the database of the FMS. That was not a problem when I got here, since I just entered the coordinates into the fms and it led me right to the airport. But now upon starting the FMC up again it ask for my current position. Obviously I can't put BIBA an but I can't put any coordinates in either. Can't I put in custom coordinates to initialize the FMC? If I can how can I do it? Greetings Stefan

May 6, 201214 yr You can put any airport in there, just don't use it for navigation until after the first fix or waypoint. Unlike the newer boxes in big jets, this little FMS is pre-GNSS adoption and the primary means of navigation is VOR/DME and what GPS is there is for reference only. Keep it simple and it works great. I suspect you could create a user fix at as an airport in the real device but not sure that would work in the simulation. Dan Downs KCRP
May 7, 201214 yr The airports in there are from the AIRAC. Perhaps adding a new airport entry to your AIRAC data (from navigraph downloads, modify in notepad etc) would work?
