I have the same graphic card you have and I get that also, but only with certain AI planes, certain airports, and it does not happen all the time.My system is:P4 2.8 GHzRadeon 9800 PRO 128MB1 GB memoryAsus P4C800 Deluxe i875P P4 800FSB DDR ATX Motherboard w/Audio, LAN, RAID/SerialWindos XP Pro

Looks like a mipmapping problem to me. What are your settings under the hardware tab in the options area?Hornit

Joseph,I have the same system as yours apart from the MB, for which I have an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe. I used to have some video anomalies before upgrading my bios. Now everything works like a charm. One warning. I had updated my bios successfully in the past, but with my current MB it went wrong, even though I am sure I had followed the instructions to the letter. Later on I read that more people had bios upgrade problems with this particular MB. Fortunately, my PC vendor could get my system back to life. After that all my video problems were gone, so it was definitely worth the hassle in the end.Best regards,Henri

I had a similar problem--drove me nuts for a while. I think in the end it was simply a performance issue. Among other things, driver updates are crucial, including MB. Don't make my mistake and think that it's only an incremental performance boost so I'll do it later. It can make a HUGE difference. I also installed the Intel Application Accelerator (a search on these boards should give you a URL) and did the windows xp twink thing by shutting off unnecessary processes. In the end I'm not sure which one did it. Prolly a combination of them. But it also made the whole flightsim run better so it was more than worth the time I spent on it.billg

Check your video settings under the ATI control panel and those in FS9. Something is set up wrong.

What should i change (check) in both ATI config panel as in FS2004?????????Regards,Jim

Take screenshots of your settings in the FS Menu and the Ati control panel and post them here, and that will be a quicker way of trying to help. Allcott

It appears from the screenshot that you are in full screen mode; so based on that and my own experience (I have a 9600 PRO), I suggest that you try to change the resolution/color-depth in the hardware tab, look at the results, then switch it back to what had. If that clears up the problem, then go ahead and rebuild FS9.CFG.I've had similar issues as this, and the above fixed the problem for me.HTH,

Can anyone see what the problem is in my config in both ATI as in FS2004 config???????????Many thanks,Jim

Could try turning up the Mip Mapping Quality setting in the Fs2004 display settings?I have a different graphics card but need to run this at 8(maximum) in order to get clearer graphics.Hope I'm helping some,Pierre

Bit hard to tell as I don't speak Dutch, however, one thing that does stand out is that it appears your AGP acceleration is OFF (look on the SmartGart screen. This means that your card is not getting any AGP accelerated texture throughput. Your card is capable of 8X; something that isn't showing on that screen you posted. I would consider completely uninstalling those Omega drivers and at very least test your card with the 'official' ATI Cat 4.3's to see how you get on. Also I would not have Anti Alaising set ON using FS9's settings page....if you want AA then set it through the ATI settings screen. I have a 9700 and am running 4X AA/6X AF and have never seen a blurring effect such as that shown by yourself! Also, my SmartGart setting shows that my AGP port is running at full speed, 8X.I think it would probably be beneficial if you reboot your PC and start-up into the BIOS setup (normally accessed by pressing 'DEL' at the initial POST screen.) and ensuring that your AGP is the PRIMARY graphics controller, and that it is set to run at 8X. Save these settings and exit then reboot into Windows. Hopefully the SmartGart should then be reading the AGP port correctly. The reason that I would use the ATI drivers is because they are 'official', made by ATI for ATI cards and not 'tweaked' as the Omega drivers are. If you get your card working correctly using the vanilla ATI drivers, then obviously, go ahead and experiment with the Omega's...:)Hope this is of some help to ya!
