May 2, 201214 yr The MD-11 MCDU has so called FSActions for doors etc What I do not understand is the difference between cabin doors being "armed" or "disarmed" as I can open/close them with both options. I searched the manuals but could not find an answer. Can anybody provide an explanation ? Thanks Hubert Werni Herbert Werni
May 2, 201214 yr Also unless the slides are armed, the DOORS warning will not go away. It was put in to simulate real life MD-11 processes. Branton Turner
May 3, 201214 yr The armed part is not done by the pilots but by the air hostess since it is done at the doors itself. You can often hear them say "cabin crew, arm doors and crosscheck". When the doors are armed the warning text disappears. HTH Manfred Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
