Best Twin Turbo Prop?

Featured Replies

What is the best Twin Turbo-Prop either Payware or FreeWare?Best Avionics, Performance (250 +), etc. Thanks!Barry

Yeah, that bird really motors ;)For a great freeware Twin turbo, you can't go wrong with the AFG YS-11, one of my all time favourite FS planesDan.

John,I have the Cheyenne. What else might be good? Just need a change..Barry

I like the Beech 1900D--great looks, great price, good performance, and many are used as "Executive" shuttles so it fits in both a GA and commercial environment (I use PMDG's own livery as an executive livery)...-John

Sounds good John... I saw that on their site. How is the panel and avionics?Barry

Panel and Avionics are mostly borrowed from the default Beech, although the two aircraft share some commonality. The 1900D is from PMDG's "light" series--one of the ways they kept costs low was from using existing gauges where they could....I was going to mention the Conquest, BTW--someone beat me to it. Coming from Flight1, that pretty much guarantees it will be top notch.... I also think the Conquest among the more beautiful t-props... -John

One of the most realistic aircraft out there in terms of flight model and realistic aircraft systems is the DASH-8 by Oleksiy Frolov.Note: This aircraft must be used at 1280x960x32 mininum. Also read the user manual before flying, if not you WILL be frustated.Oh...and it's freeware!!thanks,Tony in Miami

Agree with Tony.Go for FANDA'S DASH 8.Bruno Francescoli Student Pilot-KOPF-PA28-161

The only thing I should mention about the Dash 8 is the visual model is MSFS's own. So if you like things such as being able to check the props or check for icing from the pilot's seat, you won't have that because the default Dash 8 doesn't have wing or engine views. OTH, if cockpit drill and flight model are highest on your list, then I agree you can't go wrong with it.-John

I'll second the AFG YS-11, awesome aircraft. Though not a GA, They do have a few models out, standard pax, couple/3 different military versions, as well as a trash hauler. Its a great all around package, model, fde, panel, vc, sound set. Can be picked up here at avsim in the library.

1. Don't forget about the PSS Dash 8. Gorgeous model, easy on frames, super panel and FMC to boot!2. I second the FSD Cheyenne - another top class twin.3. AFG's YS-11 is payware quality inside and out.4. Dimitri Samborski's Antonov 24 is another outstanding freeware model. Remarkable quality in all area's. (The best 'feel' of the lot)5. I nearly forgot Milton Shupe's Aero Commander's and Dash 7!!!All of these are the cream of the crop!Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. The F1 Cessna 421 rocks. A great GA piston twin. I could do without the Bimbo in the front seat, but otherwise a great plane. I highly recommend it.Eric

I have the PSS Dash 8, but since the FS 2004 upgrade, it crashes my FS 2004 every time I attempt to load the aircraft. I have tried loading a default MS aircraft first on all the kludgy methods people recommended. And their support is non-existant now. I have contacted PSS Technical Support several times and they never responded...Needless to say, I won't be purchasing anything from them in the future.Barry
