May 7, 201214 yr Observations about the 600/700s Sound difference: The Packs or air con seem a lot louder so that you can't hear the engines as well when you use he base NGX? This might be an improvement so I'm not saying it is wrong, but on the 800/900 you could hear the actual engines better? Is this good? I was playing with the 700 and I couldn't get the lower display to show the flight control display? IE when you do the flight control checks in the Boeing check-list it isn't in the expected place. But it might not exist in real life or my Flight sim was being goofy at the time. thanks Jools J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

You can turn it on if you like in the CDU menu, PMDG options, Aircraft, Display (something like that) Steve Caffey
May 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member Several of our test team pilots (who fly the aircraft in real life) mentioned the pack/recirc fan sound being much louder on the 600/700 (older version of the system) - that's why it's that way. Thats great then, if this is true the 800 900 will be as they were? I have yet to try this yet. The engine sounds are really good, so I might cheat a bit with the sound options in FS. Maybe boost the engines over coctpit sounds, just a little. Or maybe just leave it it is great. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
May 12, 201214 yr Author Yes many thanks. I'm really enjoying flying this plane. There is still a lot to find out about it. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

But i have also tried the 800/900 and the fan/pack sounds have effected these as well. It's as if the install of the 600/700s have changed the base install. It's a minor thing. But it is a shame that you can hear that wonderful engine sound on take off, because it is drown out by the fans/packs. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

I re-visited the 900/800 after installing the 600/700 add-on. And the base sound of the 800/900 cockpit has been changed by the 600/700 install. IE the pack and fan sounds completely drown out engine sound. Can this be changed in the PMDG preferences? J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
