May 11, 201214 yr One of the major issue, if P3D became a 64 bit applications, would be that all those 32 bit addon dlls, would not run with it ( Unless P3D did a complex fancy interface, to allow 32 bit dlls to run with their their 64 bit application). I'd rather start fresh with new DLLs rather than putting the burden of backwards compatibility on LM.
May 16, 201214 yr With no "Roadmap", it just becomes a Magical Mystery Tour for those in the short bus. Just to clarify -- It's the "Addon DEVELOPERS" who are the ones going Crazy in the Short Bus, on the Tour, without any idea where the bus is going.
May 17, 201214 yr without any idea where the bus is going. In the near future, I see the bus lifting off and flying into the sky. :LMAO:
May 17, 201214 yr I'd rather start fresh with new DLLs rather than putting the burden of backwards compatibility on LM. Must be nice to have a few thousand dollars to replace FSX add on! Not everyone is in that position! If that were to happen I for one would can P3D. Wasn't that a FLIGHT complaint? No portover. ArDee
May 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member Must be nice to have a few thousand dollars to replace FSX add on! Not everyone is in that position! If that were to happen I for one would can P3D. Wasn't that a FLIGHT complaint? No portover. I think that's why the P3D team will try to maintain backwards compatibility for as long as they can. Their commercial customers will also have invested tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in their simulator cabins and woulnd´t like to see that investment go in smoke because it cannot run the next version. This is why at this time there is no rush to convert P3D to 64 bit.
