May 4, 200422 yr Author I hope it's an older 1970's to 1980's model equipped like you will find at most local FBOs or flight schools. I'd love to see a 172RG also.
May 4, 200422 yr Commercial Member Sorry...I can't offer much info for now, but when I am able (soon) I will. However, it is a newer 2000 style 172R.Regards,Jim Rhoads
May 4, 200422 yr Commercial Member Ok, Here is a "cheater" shot. :( http://www.flight1software.com/172/172.jpgRegards,Jim Rhoads
May 4, 200422 yr I notice your pic is linked to Flight1 software, so it looks like this will be a payware project... Very nice panel shot, btw.... If it's a Flight1 sponsored project, can't wait to see the end result...-John
May 4, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi John,Maybe you dont know me.....No it is not freeware and it is really a core project of our sister company Flight1 Aviation technologies which serves the training industry... more about it later...Regards,Jim Rhoads
May 5, 200422 yr Very, very nice panel.I am currently finishing my IFR rating in a 172R. I wish I could use yours when I train before after each real flights.Incidentally, above the Davtron clock, manuevering speed is not spelled correctly. Also note that the EGT in the stock FS9 aircraft is not behaving like the real thing, at all. If you're doing a new 172 panel, you might as well get that one right.--Machdiamonds
May 5, 200422 yr Commercial Member Well it never fails.. there is a critic in every corner.. :) But you did miss that little bit of bug guts in the lower left hand corner of the glare shield and that speck of dust on the lower right DG screw... :( Regards,Jim Rhoads

May 5, 200422 yr Hi,I am just starting my IR practical, in a C172S (same panel, but 180 HP). I too wish that I had this panel to practice on at home!! Would pay $$ for this no worries.Just a question on the IR, since you're almost done. I'm currently doing partial panel (AI and DG failed). How did you ever master those turns to a heading using the mag. compass, with all those compass turning errors and the way that it takes seconds to stabilize after the turn? I'm finding that very difficult, although I must say that it has made full-panel instrument flight a lot easier after the "failed" instruments are available.Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument.
