May 18, 201214 yr I will try to help our French ami. What Word Not Allowed means is, that you shouldn't get an Ivy Bridge processor, like i5 3570K, i7 3770K, etc. This is because the current Ivy Bridge processors have got heat problems, that means that they run too hot. Yes, at the same clockspeed they are a tiny little bit more powerful, but not really in FSX. That's why Word Not Allowed (and me) recommend you, to get a Sandy Bridge processor. i5 2500K will do great, i7 2700K will do a very tiny bit better due to the larger cache, and it will also overclock better. As everyone here says, overclocking is very important to get proper FSX performance. Overclocking is not as hard as you might think, and if you have proper cooling, and if you use some proper tutorials, then don't be afraid to damage your PC, AS LONG AS 75C and 1.4 volts is not exceeded. These are my recommended PC specs: Good: Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V, Asrock Z77 Extreme 4, MSI Z77A-GD45 Processor: i5 2500K 3.3 GHz RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 CL9 Video card: NVIDIA GTX 570 Hard disk: Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue 7200 RPM Power supply: Corsair/OCZ/Silverstone/Antec 600W CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen 2, Scythe Mugen 3, Corsair A50 Case: Antec 902, Corsair Carbide series. Best: Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V Pro/-V Deluxe, Asrock Z77 Extreme 6, MSI Z68A-GD65, performance will barely be affected, although a little, but it will have features that you might need. Processor: i7 2700K 3.5 GHz (and overclocked) RAM: Corsair Dominator 8GB 2133 CL9: should give you maybe 2 more FPS, and a slightly smoother FSX Video card: NVIDIA GTX 670, NVIDIA GTX 680, both perform pretty much the same, but if you play other games too, the GTX 680 is a great choice Power supply: Corsair/OCZ/Silverstone/Antec 800W+ : should give you more headroom if you want to add parts in the future Hard drive: Crucial m4 128 GB SSD, OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB SSD: this will only improve loading times, not performance CPU cooler: Corsair H series, like Corsair H80, or H100 Case: Antec 1200, Corsair Obsidian 800D. This should give you more room in the case + better airflow. But this comes with a higher price Arjen Vandervelde
