May 17, 201214 yr Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy a new PC. Would this PC be enought to run FSX with add ons such as Flytampa scenerys, FSDT scenery. etc..... Thanks!! Acer Predator AG3610-UR10P Gaming PC Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz 8GB DDR3, 2TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT530 Graphics Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1742454&Sku=A180-140006
May 17, 201214 yr I am very much still learning myself here, but I think that graphics card will prove kind of lightweight for you. HP Omen Intel Core i9 @ 3.6GHz 64GB RAM @ 1596MHz, NVidia GeForce RTX 3090 Windows 10 64bit, 2 x 2TB SSD, 2TB 7200RPM SATA Drive
May 17, 201214 yr To be honest, I don't recommend OEM PC's. Get someone to custom build a PC for you. It'll end up cheaper and might even run better. What the ###### did you just ######ing say about me, you little ######? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the ###### out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my ######ing words. You think you can get away with saying that ###### to me over the Internet? Think again, ######. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re ######ing dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable &@($* off the face of the continent, you little ######. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your ######ing tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will ###### fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re ######ing dead, kiddo.
May 17, 201214 yr Hello Where to start ? Acer Predator AG3610-UR10P Gaming PC : Despite the name this in NOT a gaming PC Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz : This really needs to be a K series chip to OC 8GB DDR3, 2TB HDD : What speed RAM ? , :A 2TB HDD will be likely be a slower storage drive NVIDIA GeForce GT530 Graphics : GPU too slow, you really want a GTX560Ti minimum Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit : Fine You would be well advised to look at the hardware in this benchmark result, they buy it and build the machine yourself. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuiXjW8fJyDrdC1KZm5fSlJYdnJBaXRRclFuU0U3WUE&authkey=CMSSocoI&hl=en&authkey=CMSSocoI#gid=0 Off the shelf PC's rarely work out for FSX unless you go to a specialist builder, expect to pay premium prices. Or set aside an hour or two to put it together yourself, there is really no magic involved in pushing a few components together these days.

Some good advice, especially about OCing the CPU and upping the GPU. However, before anything, you need to be seriuosly looking at getting as fast CPU/OC as possible. If not yourself, then get someone to help you OC, or buy a pre OCd rig. May 17, 201214 yr I've had an OEM PC once, also and Acer, I thought it would run FSX great, but no. OEM PC's have an edited BIOS that will prevent you from overclocking your CPU. And a high CPU clockspeed is exactly what gives FSX high FPS. Also this graphics card is not great. Get at least a GTX 560Ti. I always recommend building your pc yourself, there are tens of tutorials on youtube, and it's really not as hard as you might think. I built my own current rig around 8 months ago, with very little PC knowledge. Also, when building a PC yourself, you might be able to save a lot of money compared to an OEM PC, and it will perform much better if it's overclocked. I recommend: i5 2500K 8 GB DDR3 1600 CL9 EVGA GTX 560Ti 1TB 7200 RPM Motherbaord: whatever you do, get the Z77 chipset. Asus, Asrock, MSI, Gigabyte, all good. Brand shouldn't matter that much CPU cooler: I highly recommend Scythe, they are very cheap, and only run 5 C hotter than for example Corsair H100. Case: Corsair, Antec... WIth a tweaked FSX.CFG + Word Not Allowed's VSync smoothness tweak, you can enjoy FSX for a long long time without FPS problems. Arjen Vandervelde
May 17, 201214 yr Whats a good place where I can build a Custom PC? Hello On your Kitchen table is probably best..... Seriously all a custom builder is going to do is plug in the very same parts you could plug in yourself. Then charge you a lot of money for the privilege. Take your time and do it yourself, - cheaper and with a lot of satisfaction to be gained.
