FS Global Ultimate

Looking at this product, but the price is pretty hefty. Anybody have this add-on? If so, how good is it and is it worth the price?

This is a critical addon if you want the whole world to have a base foundation for scenery. I love it. Very good mesh. There are however some issues with raised or sunken lakes. You can go to the salton sea and fly down this huge 10000 foot deep hole if you want. But these issues are few and far between. Every once in a blue moon I end up flying over something like that and I just do the LOTOW(Look Out The Other Window) technique.

This is another option if looking for downloadable addon, they have most of the world (Asia, Africa, Australia, South America at least) covered with 76m mesh, and then high quality 10m Nexmap mesh for many Western European countries & 30m Aster for many countries, and high quality meshes for US area.

They also seem to have sales very often.

I have Europe Africa and Americas. It is a very nice product, probably the better mesh product for FSX so far. Nonetheless I do not suggest it. I say this on account of airports addons elevation. You'll end up with many issues concerning airport elevation wich doesn't match with the landscape, though there are a few programmes that may help you to sort out this issue.

Is there a difference between FS Global X and FS Global Ultimate?

I do believe Ultimate is more accurate
