May 23, 201214 yr Hi. This problem has only surfaced in the past month or two - all was fine before (I have no idea what changes might have occurred to occasion this). I set autobrakes before landing and they engage fine, but now, when I set them to zero at about 60KIAS, braking continues, even when I try to toggle brakes off with my Saitek X52 or keyboard. Once the aircraft comes to a halt on the runway, then the brakes disengage and I can taxi off the runway. I have found a few old posts about this but no answers as yet. Anyone able to help with this? Thanks! Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
May 23, 201214 yr Hi Martin Not sure about your specific issue but I never turn off the autobrakes until either I've vacated the runway or on stand. I always thought the brakes disengaged automatically at 80kts when reverse thrust is disengaged and then manually brake from then. Might not be that useful but it was just a thought!! Cheers Alan W
May 23, 201214 yr Autobrakes..... never set them to zero while they are in use. They will disarm on either application of manual braking (if they are not providing enough brake force) , or on forward thrust slightly beyond idle. You should not need to "disarm" them any other way. Peter Peter Schluter
May 26, 201214 yr Author Unfortunately my Autobrakes remain on until the aircraft comes to a standstill, no matter what I do. Hope someone can help - or maybe I need to open a support request with PMDG? Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
May 28, 201214 yr Author I think this may be due to a setting that has been changed (no memory of my changing it, but nothing's impossible!) in Flightdeck Companion. I have changed the setting back to how I assumed it was (with the Second Officer NOT controlling the autobrakes on landing) and on one test flight all is OK, the brakes disengage. I will post back to say 'solved' after a few more tries.. Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
