Prepar3D and FS2Crew Button versions

Featured Replies

Hi all,

For those that could be interested, it seems that the FS2Crew Button versions work on Prepard3D.

I´ve tested myself with the Airbus and PMDG MD11 and so far no problem.

Cheers,

Francis

Will voice versions be updated to work with P3D?

That would be great as I truly believe that P3D is the future of the sim, and I love my FS2Crew with the iFly.

thanks for your response,

Michael

Hi Bryan

I noted your comment that it should work OK, but am having difficulty getting FS2Crew to work with the NGX in P3D.

Using the FSX to P3D Migrator tool I have the latest PMDG download of the NGX installed fine in P3D. Ditto the latest version of FS2Crew (1.5)

I get no errors and all seems fine except that I can't invoke the FS2Crew Voice interface when I click the hot-spot on the NGX panel. Works great in FSX.

I would be very grateful for some guidance in case I'm missing something that's obvious to you but obviously not to me.

Kind regards,

Gareth

Hi there Bryan,

Thanks for the fast response!

To answer your question: no, both on same PC actually.

As I mentioned, nothing happens when I hover the mouse over the NGX panel i.e. no click spot to open the FS2Crew interface. Nothing to do with admin rights?

Having just re-downloaded the NGX I presume it includes SP1? Likewise I have your latest FS2Crew version. My P3D installation works just great. And wow, great it is!

Something I'm missing here, mate. We'll find it I know. FSX/P3D is my Soduku ...

Cheers

By way of an update ...

1. I verified that FS2Crew NGX / NGX working perfectly in FSX but not at all in P3D

2. Rebuilt Prepar3d.cfg - this made no difference.

3. Established that Win 7 Speech Engine configured correctly and functioning (at least in FSX)

4. Both programmes running as Admin.

The FS2Crew Speech Recog. Init. Log reads as follows (i.e. no errors):

Current Task: Creating the Critical Section Object... SUCCEEDED!

Windows 7 Service Pack 1

[unknown Flight Simulator]

Current Task: Creating the ISpRecognizer object... SUCCEEDED!

Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows (English - US)

Current Task: Creating the ISpRecoContext object... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Setting the CallBack Function... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Setting the Notifications Interest... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Creating the ISpAudio object... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Setting the Audio Input... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Setting the Recognizer State... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Creating the ISpRecoGrammar object... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Loading the Command and Control grammar from the FS2Crew Grammar resource file... SUCCEEDED!

Current Task: Setting the rule with id 1 to ACTIVE... SUCCEEDED!

The problem again:

In FSX once FS2Crew is activated via the Config panel, hovering mouse on panel hotspot reveals a hand tool, click and up comes the FS2Crew Speech Engine confirmation etc.

In P3d when FS2Crew is activated via the Config panel, hovering mouse on panel hotspot reveals nothing. No evidence of any hot-spot, and hence no FS2Crew.

Is there any other P3d script I can send you to help source the prob? Or where can I look other than in your Ini. Log.

It imagine it must be in my P3D install, given it all works fine in FSX. I'll try uninstalling / reinstalling both the PMDG NGX and FS2Crew NGX. The FSX to P3D Migrator appears to have done its job faultlessly thus far.

Perhaps someone else can walk me through exactly what they did to get FS2Crew working with their PMDG NGX in P3D?

A final thought - should I install PMDG's SP1c? I have assumed all along that the very latest NGX download files would incorporate all SPs.

Btw I have not installed MS Acceleration into P3D on the understanding that LM have already streamlined the FSX code where necessary in their product.

Gareth

Lord only knows that the 'Migrator' tool did.

Does the NGX panel.cfg have FS2Crew entries on it in P3D?

Please open the panel.cfg for the 800 with Notepad and see if you have FS2Crew Window entries on it.

I'm not 100 percent sure if the latest PMDG installer has SP1C built it... probably does.

Cheers,

Blimey ... not one, sir!

'FIND' found nothing anywhere else in the 800 panel.cfg

Very intresting.

Could this perhaps be the problem?

How can I set this up manually?

Hi Bryan,

Sorted it manually thanks. Filled in what was missing from the P3D panel.cfg and FS2C appears to be working normally. No big thing when you boil it down, eh.

Thanks for your input.

Best,
