Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang

Featured Replies

I have lost the "500" callout sound in my Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang. The guys at Flight1 found an issue, corrected it, and included it in version 1.07. Unfortunately, installing version 1.07 has NOT solved the problem for me. Can any users of the Flight1 Mustang let me know if there is a call for this in one of the config files? I have seen callout statements in the [VCockpit01] section of the panel.cfg for other aircraft, but there is nothing in the relevant file for my Mustang. I also can't find anything in the aircraft.cfg or sound.cfg files relating to this. I am therefore wondering if I have something missing. The audio file is there, and it works fine when I manually play it.

I have posted this on the Flight1 Mustang forum, but I was hoping that someone here may be able to respond quicker, since it is now the weekend.

Thanks for any help.

Don't have that particualr plane my self, but got some ideas: Is the file in question still in the file where it belongs to (i. e. either in the sound file of the aircraft or the MSFSX/Sound file)? And if so, does its name match with the file name specified in the panel.cfg of the A/C? Maybe it was just renamed or something got messed up in the panel.cfg.

If that doesn't help, a re-install will hopefully do so.

Hope that one of that can fix it

I can't see any mention of the audio file in the panel.cfg. It is correctly located in the FSX/Sound/F1_Cessna_Mustang/Sounds folder. I have already tried reinstalling version 1.07, but that did not fix the problem.

I guess I'm not much of help here anyways, since I don't have that bird.

BUT: Usually there are gauge entries for the altitude callouts in the panel.cfg.

I have seen callout statements in the [VCockpit01] section of the panel.cfg for other aircraft, but there is nothing in the relevant file for my Mustang.

Does that mean it doesn't it read there, or is everything just as it should be(entries are there)?

Well, this is what I was thinking, but I can't see any gauge statements for the altitude callout. That's why I need a fellow Mustang owner to check! Thanks for the suggestions though. Greatly appreciated.

Well, it isn't the solution that I was looking for, but I have managed to "jury rig" the 500 callout using part of a freeware callout sounds package that I downloaded from AVSIM. I just disabled the other altitude callouts, copied the Mustang 500 callout audio file to the new folder, changed the name, and added a couple of gauge statements to the [VCockpit01] section of the Mustang's panel.cfg file. This works just like the proper one, so I am up and running again.

I am still curious as to why the normal method doesn't work though...

This issue is discussed on Flight1's official support forum for the Citation Mustang. They released a fix for it, go check it out.

The fix is supposed to be part of version 1.07. I have downloaded and installed version 1.07, but it does not work on my PC. I was the person who started the thread on the Flight1 Mustang forum.
