June 4, 201213 yr Hello, my FSX works like a charm without any tweaks, but lately I have a small issue that sometimes it becomes annoying. When I switch on my computer and start the FSX for the first time, everything works ok, but when I select an airplane (default or addon) from the main menu it takes around 4-5 mins to appear on the screen. Starting again FSX for the second time, without switching off my computer, then everything works normal and fast. I noticed that this happens only when I switch off and then on my computer and start FSX. I also noticed that this issue appeared after I installed PILOT'S FS Global Ultimate Europa Afrika. I may be wrong but I can't find any logical explanation. Thank you for any help that you could provide. Panos Kotzias
June 4, 201213 yr Panos, "without switching off my computer, then everything works normal and fast." It is working from its cache. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
June 4, 201213 yr Do you have a lot of add on aircraft? If so, that might be the cause. Mike Mike Dryden
June 4, 201213 yr Author It is working from its cache Yes, that makes sense then, but waiting around 5 mins for a selected airplane the first time after i switch on my computer is not too much? Is this normal? Do you have a lot of add on aircraft? If so, that might be the cause. I have 3 PMDG airplanes and alot of scenery addons Panos Kotzias
June 4, 201213 yr Is your MSFS default flight theTrike? If you start MSFS, load the default flight ... how long does it take? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
June 5, 201213 yr Author Is your MSFS default flight theTrike? If you start MSFS, load the default flight ... how long does it take? Hello Vaughan, yes it is the Trike. So, I switched on my computer I started FSX, no problem so far, then I hit the 'fly now' button to load the default flight and voila! Again 4 mins to load. Other than that, FSX works fine. Once again. I closed FSX, without turning off my computer, I start again FSX, hit again 'fly now' button and it starts immediately. As I said before. This strange issue appeared after installing FS Global Ultimate Europa Afrika some days ago and perhaps it has a connection to the problem. I have also installed long time ago the FS Global Ultimate the Amerikas but with no problems. Maybe because both products are using massive data, around 80 GBs, there is this delay at the beginning. Don't count me wrong though, both products are excellent and perhaps the delay is normal and I have to live with it Panos Kotzias
June 5, 201213 yr You run FSX on the laptop mentioned in your signature? Probably normal loadtime considering the massive addons you have. Where did you install FSX and FS Global? What kind of harddisk do you have? Be sure to choose "High Performance" in the Power Options. Use Gbooster to turn off programs not needed in FSX.
June 5, 201213 yr Author You run FSX on the laptop mentioned in your signature? Yes I have a laptop but as I mentioned before in my previous posts, FSX was running like a charm, and still does, but I get this small issue only at the beginning when I switch on my computer, and not later. Probably normal loadtime considering the massive addons you have. That's what I thought too but before installing FS Globe Ultimate Europa FSX loading time was faster at the beginning. Be sure to choose "High Performance" in the Power Options Sorry for my ignorance but where is this? Panos Kotzias
June 5, 201213 yr Have a look at this, you need to get the basics sorted out. http://www.simforums...187.html#198187
June 6, 201213 yr Author Have a look at this, you need to get the basics sorted out. http://www.simforums...187.html#198187 I don't see that this link answers my question. This is deepen into the systems for tweaking and I'm not the very expert to do that, considering that my FSX works fine without tweaking only because I have this small issue only at the beginning. Thank you though for your help Panos Kotzias
