June 5, 201214 yr Hi all. I'm using a 680 now and compared to the 590 I pulled out the FPS loss is quite a lot and stutters are shocking. We all know there is talk about the VSync problem with the 300 series drivers, however I have noticed that my stutters with the 680 are near the water, if I reduce the water effect to nothing I'm fluid again and fps go back to 30. (using kostas tweak) I had the water effect set to high as per Word Not Allowed's recommendation to avoid flashes and I use REX for my water textures. This makes me think that I maybe using wrong settings in REX or shaders or something, can anyone help out here? thanks IM
June 8, 201213 yr What's your AF set to? I get this issue as well. I have my AF set to 16x. Have tried the newer 300 drivers and the old 296.10 and get the same effect. I have a fairly decent system - 2700k @ 4.8GHz, GTX 580 3GB, 16GB of RAM, but it probably doesn't help I run FSX at 2560x1440. I have nVidia Inspector set up as explained in the recent threads by Word Not Allowed. Luke Harvest
June 9, 201213 yr :D Do you also experience a large drop in performance between the shader 1 and 2 water? Luke Harvest

Worth a try? Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
June 9, 201213 yr Do you also experience a large drop in performance between the shader 1 and 2 water? Of course I see a boost in frames when using a 1.x setting. Although, my FPS do not take a sharp drop. Frames for me are silky smooth with the High2.x setting.
