FSD Cheyenne

Who has the FSD Cheyenne? Got a few questions!Pete

Me :-wave Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."

I've had it since FS2002 and have the updated version for FS9. It's much better than the default Kingair and is the usual FSD excellent quality add on. The outside view is somewhat restricted, but this is accurate to the real aircraft. My only dislike is the somewhat sensitive throttle during descent.Dale

Go ahead! :-)

If you had asked the questions, I'm sure you'd have never gotten this many replies! ;)Best,sg

Hiya Pete...I would be happy to answer any question you have about the Cheyenne as I have been playing around with it for long enough! Otherwise you could always pop over to the [a href=http://www.fsd-international.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=1]FSD Forums[/a] and ask around there.http://www.fsdinternational.net/janey/chey...es/hbpls_01.jpg

I just may have to get one of those in pink for my girlfriend. =)What scenery is that?Andre

I'm a proud owner of two FSD payware aircraft. I love them both. The Cheyenne screams; that's why it is always used in the Around the World Race with Flightsim.com. Steve Small's flight dynamics are among the best you can find and the a/c is rendered very well. I've had zero complaints with the a/c. I would recommend that you thoroughly read the instructions and readme so that you won't feel lost using the cabin controls and the other great gizmos they've modeled. You simply cannot go wrong with an FSD bird!:-beerchug

Hiya Andre... :)Swiss Pro by Flylogic, all my scenery dreams come true!

Ah of course, Swiss Pro. Lucky you, I'm still dreaming.

Hi Pete: I had the Cheyenne in 2002 and flew alot. It's about the only payware I have and it was super. I had a lot of trouble trying to get it over to FS9 and conversed with Steve about it and finally decided to buy the newer version for it. This is a bit unfair to Steve since I have yet to tell him, but so far I can't get it to work in the new Sim. I'm sure it's a tech problem that can be solved. When I toggle between views in 2d panel there is a double image that appears on the "outside" view. The panel is ok but looking out the front view after it returns there is a ghost image of the last (right, left or whatever)outside the window.(of the plane). Also, autostart does not work. I've gone through the manual 10 times but can not get the dern thing to turn over. And I used to manually start in 2k2 all the time. These are some issues I believe will be fixed. All in all it's a great plane to fly and worth the money.Best,John

John To correct the double image when returning from side or rear views open the panel.cfg file and under the {Views} section add this line:VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANELso you will now have:VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANELVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.5, 0.0, 0.0Then under the {Window00} section change the field ident=0 to read ident=MAIN_PANELYou will also have to edit these fields in the Loadout.cfg file in your FSD Piper Cheyenne 400Data folder so the changes will stay when you next run the Load Manager(there are 2 {Window00} sections in that file).Markus

John,You only have to contact us and we will sort that duplicated purchase out. You need not have purchased the product again and I was unaware of it until now. I don't know your real ID from your forum ID here or I would just do it now, but if you like to write to me direct or via an online form I will deal with it. A few people did have problems migrating from 2002 to 2004, that is true, and if all else failed we sent them the new installer. In our defence I'd explain we were trying to meet the new FS2004 functional changes and service user's migration needs literally within days of FS2004's release. Not everyone got going immediately as we found some registry problems that caused headaches, especially in Win98 and WinME.I never used the 2D bitmaps, and was not aware of that problem. I see Markus has posted a solution (Thanks). We found the 2D views were too hard on resources and discontinued them on other projects. Problems with starting ... are due for the most part to complex systems modelling in the Cheyenne that really requires the user use the systems in panel. But having said that ... I still have no trouble starting it by CTRL+E.Thanks for your positive feedback, the problems you had notwithstanding. As I said above, please write me regarding that duplicate order I can't ID without a name ...Best,

But what on earth was the first guy about to ask...:-)rgrds fredrik granfors

Actually, I'm another guy with a Cheyenne question...I am looking to buy, but have W98se. I run FS2004 just fine...does anyone have W98 with the Cheyenne? The FSD site does not support this system...Advice??thanks in advance.Randy AdamsTaiwan
