June 11, 201213 yr This issue is not 100% related to the c90 but it effects flight in the c90 the most so I will put it here. I finally figured why I can not taxi this airplane (or why it takes 500+ lbs trq to break away) there is something wrong with my rudder pedals. I am starting to notice this in all planes that I fly. When I bring up power and the plane does not move I can pan down and quickly "tap" the P-Brake in and out (off-on-off) and the plane will start to roll (at the correct power setting) Then any application of toe brakes will start to slow and stop the aircraft and I am back where I started with having to apply immense amounts of power to break away. Any of your opinions or help would be appreciated! I have CH pro pedals Here is a video link showing what is happening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubf3h--lIPw&feature=youtu.be
June 11, 201213 yr Have you checked the calibration recently? You might try turning the sensitivity up a bit Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
June 11, 201213 yr Author I have calibrated so many times It hurts! I played with sensitivity settings inside FSX with no help (not sure what the Null zone is though)
June 11, 201213 yr Increase the null zone and see if that helps. Sometimes as the controller gets old they will spike a bit and after calibrating still send a signal that causes them to actuate. You can also try depressing them just a bit when you calibrate the off portion so that there is a larger area to ensure them not depressing when you don't want them to. Not sure from the video and description if your issues are brakes or not. I had problems with the brakes of my CH Pro Pedals for years. Sometimes I could see the brakes were not rebounding to null because I could see the parking brake text at the left bottom of the FSX screen. At other times I would not see that indication but still have an issue of an aircraft pulling to one side and then it would seem I was overcorrecting when I attempted to steer. There is a somewhat documented CH recommended workaround where you place a CD jewel case under the heel of each pedal to hold them up some as you calibrate. In my case I had to go to two jewel cases on each side for calibration and still I would have problems. Was having to calibrate each time I started FSX. I finally gave up and switched to the Saitek Cessna Pro Pedals. Perhaps I could have just purchased a new set of CH pedals as well, just don't know, but now that I have them, I like the Saitek pedals a lot better in regard to their more authentic design and the fact that their tension can be adjusted for feel. Anyway, I am now spending my time flying rather than fighting hassles.
