I already have a corsair water cooler, but I am not planning on over clocking . I have no experience overclocking and I want the system to run FSX out of the box... I will change my thoughts to the non K model. Also whats the difference between an i5 and i7 ??

I am finally in a position (After moving up to senior FO B) ) to build a real computer rig. Before anybody gets crazy because I am posting this in the PMDG forums I am asking here because the only purpose of this computer is to run the PMDG NGX and the upcoming 777. On my current computer I am running FSX with all sliders to the left and can sustain the NGX at default airports around 25FPS. I would like to be able to run middle sliders into complex add on airports with the NGX while keeping at least 30 fps. I am going to keep from my current computer : Power Supply Hard drives Disk Drive (Possibly Graphics card) Radeon HD 4890 (Should I upgrade?????) I looked for some way to do that but was unsure where , so how would I go about flipping them, photoshop cs5

So I finally got the files copied into the fuses (just 1,2 for now) but preview in FSX is almost like upside down. 1. Saved as .BMP in photoshop 2. opened in DXTBMP and saved as .DDS DXT5 3. Placed into texture folder Result: What am I doing wrong?

Im not even converting yet, I am just trying to figure out how to move the paint from the main FUSE .psd to the three seperate PSD files. But when I start converting is there some kind of tool i should download?

I am attempting to paint my own BBJ, I am starting simple and doing a base color with just one stripe. Following the PDF I know that I need to crop each fuselage section then copy it to the correct fuse....but I have no idea how to do this. When I crop the red area for fuselage one the rest of the plane disappears and I dont have any way how to copy and move it to the other fuse!! Any help would be appreciated!!!!

I have calibrated so many times It hurts! I played with sensitivity settings inside FSX with no help (not sure what the Null zone is though)

This issue is not 100% related to the c90 but it effects flight in the c90 the most so I will put it here. I finally figured why I can not taxi this airplane (or why it takes 500+ lbs trq to break away) there is something wrong with my rudder pedals. I am starting to notice this in all planes that I fly. When I bring up power and the plane does not move I can pan down and quickly "tap" the P-Brake in and out (off-on-off) and the plane will start to roll (at the correct power setting) Then any application of toe brakes will start to slow and stop the aircraft and I am back where I started with having to apply immense amounts of power to break away. Upon calling for the landing checklist I go through every item except for flaps, the system will not recognize me saying "Green Light". I have ran the voice training through windows 7, and I have a high quality microphone. When the FO ask for flaps I say Flaps 30, Green Light , It does nothing I keep saying Green light, Green Light, Green Light, Green Light, Green Light, Green Light. I enunciate very clearly with no change. The only way I can complete the checklist is by saying "Next" Evan

Ryan, You are on top as far as I am concerned! Im not going to go any farther with my comments because I feel like the issues has been thoroughly discussed. (thank you for the adult conversation btw...) Your support is fanatical, and I have not and will never deny that. We all appreciate the work that you and the other mods put into maintaining this world class forum! Thank you for the info Ryan!

iFly- Hasnt even released the Feature pack update that they have been planning for months and months- Stalled FSL- Is focusing on the scarebus and wont be working on anything else for a bit Leonardo- Maddog, thats about it Quality wings- they model simplistic "jump in and fly" planes that do not compete with PMDG Flyjsim and the other one I have never heard of.... Looks pretty quiet to me...

Ryan, Thanks for your reply! By "closed" I dont mean that you are no longer operating, I mean that you are non transparent in your development process. I can't expect you to document every single detail, but maybe a once a month official update would be really nice! In the end I know that a forum post won't be considered in your highly secret and confidential virtual airplane development process, but It would be very nice to see updated information coming directly from PMDG on a regular basis! Once again I don't want to bash, and regardless of how opaque you are I will buy the next plane, I would just love the process to be a little bit less painful!

What Competition? They wont pounce on Level D, Wilco and feelthere really dont make products comparable with PMDG, Flight 1 doesnt handle too many large airliners, and in a direct plane vs plane competition against Aerosoft , PMDG would win. I understand some secrecy, but sometimes they act like my good friend. He refuses to tell me about his father's job at NetJets because he works in "security" turns out his dad is a flight attendent and will talk to me directly about anything I want!

I would love a 717! I just wonder sometimes, please correct me if I am wrong but how many times has PMDG listened to the user base, and produced an airplane that the end user's wanted? With that being stated I believe that PMDG doesn't care what request's are being made in the forum. It's my belief that they already have a list somewhere that has every plane they will develop for the next 10 years. PMDG is a company that is very closed and kept out of public eyes, why they do this, I have no idea?? It would be my little wet dream to wake up on a consistent basis to news reports, screenshots, video's, or just posts that let us know what the developers are doing, and how its coming! yes, they are getting old or something, they have to be calibrated before every flight or they begin to "wander" they really suck

I just discovered what appears to be a bug! I made the CFG change but when I when to taxi it still took over 700lbs trq to break loose, then I looked down and tapped the parking brake off then on very quickly and the aircraft began to move, it is almost like my p brake is sticking on? anybody ever heard of this?

I use low idle for taxi, Im going to change the static thrust in the CFG file and see if that helps. I took exact readings last night, breakaway at 600lbs trq and it shoots right to 23 or so knots :Thinking: then rest of taxi is somewhere around 400lbs trq, that was 200lbs short of MTOW

My CH yoke and pedals are fully calibrated and I still have the same problem as the OP, it takes over 400lbs trq just to get the thing rolling? what am I doing wrong?

I have a question somewhat related, I have service based failures turned on for all models and paints, but what does this really mean? I treat my NGX well, fly it by the manuals, soft landings etc... But does this mean I will never have a failure? Because random failure's happen? Perfect example, I was up in the Eclipse this morning and we had an unsafe gear light, the plane was just out of gear maint. This kind of stuff just happens! So could someone explain the failure model?
