February 14, 201214 yr I can't even count how many hours I did with PS1. Nice to see Hardy's work wasn't vaporware. PS1 was my first intro to PMDG... (They supplied an additional manual at the time) "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
February 14, 201214 yr Author Yeah check out his website aerowinx.deI think the graphics are super smooth! Nice screen wipers even! And what is that? A fancy looking weather radar! Yours trulyBoaz FraizerCopenhagen, Denmark

February 14, 201214 yr Commercial Member And what is that? A fancy looking weather radar!Might want to have a second look at the left side of that NAV display. I distinctly remember it saying "TERR." Kyle Rodgers
February 14, 201214 yr Might want to have a second look at the left side of that NAV display. I distinctly remember it saying "TERR."It does say TERR, but that sweep looks like a RADAR sweep to me. However, it's more of a system simulator (or was), so not much to see outside if its TERR or WXR. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
February 14, 201214 yr Might want to have a second look at the left side of that NAV display. I distinctly remember it saying "TERR."Though he does have a working weather radar. It does say TERR, but that sweep looks like a RADAR sweep to me. However, it's more of a system simulator (or was), so not much to see outside if its TERR or WXR.The outside graphics ("terrain") looks promising, considering. February 14, 201214 yr The new incarnation of the Aerowinx Precision Simulator does appear to be a true masterpiece, but it's important to understand that is is a completely stand-alone simulation of just one aircraft - the 747-400. Though the "out the window" graphics will probably be better than those of the original (MS-DOS) PS1, they will still be rather limited, mainly depicting runways only. That being said, it's my understanding that interfacing options will be included to make it possible to use FS9/FSX, X-Plane, and others as scenery engines. PS1 users have already been doing this for years using a variety of add-on programs written by various members of the PS community. One interesting fact: The new version is being written in Java, and should be platform independent, making it possible to run it under Windows, Mac and Linux. Hardy is using a Mac as his main development platform. It's still probably many months from release, but if the Alpha video above is anything to go by, it will be well worth the wait! February 15, 201214 yr Looking forward to this new iteration. I've never bought into the $10.0 x 10^6 dollars cost of developing a new sim. Why? because many of the brilliant inovations over time, did not start a a multi-something dollar investment. If you've got the skills, you still need to think strategicaly. Start with a reasonable core and expand alone or with outside helpin collaboration.Look at this guy: http://www.raspberrypi.org/I am onboard with this: he'll be cleaning up with this, I think.I'll be waiting for the release of Aerowinx Precision simulator X ready to buy at release!
