June 11, 201213 yr Hi all- Just wondering what your favorite textures are for use with Active Sky. I know a lot of people love the REX clouds; over the years I've seen plenty of clouds mentioned in the Library, but have never tried any. (Even the default FSX clouds look pretty good now, I assume that's because of the more complex presentation.) Also, maybe more of a question for the scenery forum, but is there a guide to making them? thanks, Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
June 11, 201213 yr My personal favourite textures come from REX,whith the exception of the sky textures. For those, I use a reworked FSX set originally done by Pablo Diaz: http://simviation.co...1&keywords=hde DIMITRI
June 11, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the link. Question: one of the things that looked good about REX was the sky/cloud colors- I'm not sure how this is actually handled, but I assume it's not by a lighting model like X-Plane uses now. Any thoughts? thanks, Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
June 11, 201213 yr Moderator get AS2012 - the textures are exceptional! RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
June 11, 201213 yr Agreed. I still think REX does better water textures, but AS2012 has really come a long way. Scott KGPI
June 11, 201213 yr Author Thanks guys. Question # 567: I see lots of "colorful" sky environments - pinks, oranges, etc. How are these selected/assigned? Is there a way to tell the program to load the most appropriate color graphics based on the atmospheric conditions? I could swear I saw that somewhere but am not at home right now so can't check it out. thanks, Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
