June 14, 201213 yr I tried out REX Ess last night for the first time and haven't had a chance to play with it that much, so bear with me please... Ess seems to be different to 2OD in that in 2OD I'd launch FSX and the WX engine would start automatically with it, so no need to run the 2OD executable. Ess looks like it needs to run itself first (to go off and get the weather) and it launches FSX for you at the same time as launching its WX engine. So if I just launch FSX I don't get the REX WX engine, right? So I launched FSX via Ess last night but realised that my EZdok head movement didn't seem to work and I couldn't see that EZdok was running along with Ess and FSX - is this a problem with launching FSX from Ess, and if so how do I get around it? Can I just launch Ess and FSX separately? Or am I being a spanner and have forgotten to define an EZdok camera for the aircraft I picked to fly last night (not one I use very often)?
June 14, 201213 yr I can't answer all of your questions, but one: you can launch FSX and RexEss separately, and they'll work just fine together. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
June 14, 201213 yr Is the EZDoc menu there? Can you bring up the GUI? I, occassionally, have a problem like this without REX but bringing up the GUI seems to have solved it. June 14, 201213 yr Author Sounds like it could just be me being a spanner with the setup of EZdok on that particular aircraft. So just to be clear: Unlike REX 2.0 Overdrive, I need to launch REX Essentials before FSX for it to load the WX engine OR I launch REX Essentials and then FSX through the 'Fly Now' option Correct?
