Texture squares in water and land: what to do? (pics)

Can anyone of you explain what's the matter with my textures loading? Here you find two clear examples of what i mean; of course, as soon as my plane approaches to those blurred zones they become just sharp.Which setting shoul i adjust given that most siders in FS9 display settings are almost full right?Thank you as usual for helpingLuigi ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76505.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76506.jpg

Can't get rid of it, we all have that. Depending on your water textures, it will be more or less noticable, but it will for sure always be there. FS limitation.

Luigi, If you are using the default fs2004 water ocean 95% of the time you won`t have this intensity of the water blocky transition (see the picture below), the blocky transition issue are created from 3rd party ocean texture (not 3rd party reflection texture) when you are flying above 20 000 feet, but you can use most of the 3rd water party reflection texture.-Be sure your extended texture is enabled.Default fs 2004 ocean water neat 40 000 feethttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76516.jpg ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs

Thanks a lot for helping.I'll try different sets and maybe i'll decide to go back to MS textures.... I really dislike those horrible squares all around!Take careLuigi ;-)

HiI can confirm it's down to 3rd party textures - i had the exact same problem after i installed the "waterzone" textures. Replaced them with the default ones and the problem went away.Gary

I'm back to the default water textures. But, I use the oceanfieldheight bmp from Bill Lyons FS9Watga3 "calm water" textures and have achieved the ultimate IMHO. They look great without those wierd effects now.

Yes, back to default MS water textures keeping Bill Lyons "waves"; but what about environment? Does it also affect textures loading? Do you also revert to stock MS water environment?Thank you allLuigi ;-)

Took my last flight after restoring MS default water texture and installed B.Lyons Replacement Environmental water textures v.3 (plus ocean waves). I'm still getting those squares but no so horrible as before. Next flight will be with full MS stock water textures-environment.What do you think?Luigi ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76787.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76788.jpg

I'm getting these blocky textures both on water and on land. This is with the default FSX installation. The only change I've made is to rename the default.xml in the Autogen. Sure looks ugly. Anyone else getting these sort of displays and have you been able to solve the problem?Cheers,Shug.

May all your landings be safe ones!
