An update on my learning

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am chuffing along pretty well with my learning of the 737, all my systems knowledge is goign great but the routes can still get me. For example I was trying to do a flight from YSSY-YBNA which is a smaller airport and I couldn't really get past the departure for 34L. I wanted to get to KAMBA but the only way the FMC said I could get there was to depart from 16L or 07. The approach also got me a bit for YBNA. It was an RNAV approach and whenever I tried to input it I got a route discontinuity in the legs which I dont think is too good. Although I think this is all just a matter of finding the charts, and using it. Also, I was wondering if something like a Tutorial 3 with something like and emergency, go around, diversion would be possible. I have seen them through the whole guide, but dont in fact know exactly what to do. Not a necessity, just wondering if something would be possible.

Thanks,

The flight to BNA goes via waypoint ENTRA... You cannot have a SID to it from 34L beacuse you would conflict with all the inbound traffic from the north.

Sydney would normally use 34R for departures, in which case you can use the ENTRA SID.

Dis you visit the Vatpac site like i suggested?? There is a document created for all major Australian airports as well as charts of all Sids and Stars.

yes I have, but I am having trouble signing up for the forums and FSInn freezes when it comes to the loading aircraft stage. Have checked out their sources though.

But now, doing a flight from YMML-YBCG using real world weather (wind 328/7, temp 7, qnh 1001) I wasn't able to insert the vspeeds to the PFD. They came up in the FMC, and where even inserted down the right hand column but where not appearing on the PFD. I couldn't get the VNAV to turn on either probably due to that. I had the whole route done, thought I would take off runway 27 for a change, fuel planned and N1 ref done with topcat but these two kept me back. I must have done something wrong, but I really dont know.
