May 19, 200422 yr "Could it be us_wa_nc.zip by Holger Sandmann in AVSIM library?"Yesssss!! Holger, you are AMAZING!! Such wonderful scenery.Thank you! :-beerchug Greg
May 19, 200422 yr So no one else has to wonder what it's about, or go searching...File Description:The files in this package completely replace the FS default landscape of the North Cascades Mountains and coastal areas of northwestern Washington State. Between Bellingham and Arlington (N-S), Orcas Island and Lake Chelan (W-E) you can now enjoy your VFR flights with accurate locations of coastlines, lakes, rivers, streams, roads, railroads, and power lines, as well as land use type (landclass) and terrain (add-on mesh). Also added are the larger glaciers of the majestic North Cascades volcanoes and peaks as well as several forestry roads and clearcuts outside the National Park and Wilderness areas. Made mostly with Christian Fumey's "Ground2K4" and Jim Keir's "Slartibartfast". Fully compatible with the recent freeware LOD10 add-on meshes of the western US. Mesh and landclass files will work in FS2002 but not the special scenery enhancements.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=Root

May 19, 200422 yr Wow!!Spectacular is an inadequate description- this is fabulous.I have the scenery installed along with the FSFreeware mesh- works perfectly and about as real as anything I've ever seen in FS.If you haven't got it then you're missing a real treat.Thankyou HolgerDave
May 19, 200422 yr Yep, spectacular is an understatement. Like Holger's Bella Coola Valley, this North Cascades package brings new and much needed life (realism) to the Cascade Range. I only hope Holger considers capturing the entire Cascade Range from Northern Washington, through Oregon and into California. If you've never seen or trekked through the Cascades in RL, Holgers work is the next best thing. Salute! :-beerchug :-samurai

May 19, 200422 yr Stunning, just stunning. I wonder if this will work if FSGenesis landclass is installed?Todd
May 19, 200422 yr Todd, I've got it coupled with FSGenesis and so far see no problems. From the Readme included with Holgers package:Additional recommended add-ons:* This package is fully compatible with the freeware LOD10 add-on meshes by FSGenesis and FSFreeware and will seamlessly blend with either without changes to the FS Scenery Library. I have included a "local" LOD10 mesh made from the same source data for those who don't want to install those very large files. Also, for users of the FSAddon "Orcas Island" scenery (which has problems with add-on mesh) my mesh file might be a suitable option as it ends just east of Orcas Island.* Since the default landclass (the distribution of texture types and autogen structures across the landscape) of the entire Pacific Northwest and adjacent British Columbia is very plain and often inaccurate, I strongly suggest you install Russel Dirks' Fraser Valley landclass (fvlc.zip), Harvey Janszen's East Vancouver Island shorelines and landclass (evi04.zip), and the FSGenesis US landclass (http://portal.fsgenesis.net/; a free beta version is available at http://portal.fsgenesis.net/modules.php?op...ownload&sid=11). All of these files blend well with the landclass/waterclass file provided with my North Cascades package.
May 19, 200422 yr "I've got it coupled with FSGenesis and so far see no problems."No problems here either... FSGenesis Landclass and Mesh.Holger... three words for you... Sierra-Nevada-Mountains :-) If not then I'll be happy to spend lots of time in the Northern Cascades. Thanks again for brilliant work,Greg
