June 20, 201213 yr Note: You may want to reference my post, "Sound has a mind of its own!" posted by me yesterday on the MS FSX Forum. There I made my first attempt to attach screenshots with poor success. With Windows XP 64 bit, I had "Microsoft Photo Editor" which I used for resizing screen shots to an acceptable size for AvSim attachements (700 pixels width). This has worked for me in years past with no problem and I have been able to add attachments which were clear and legible. I recently upgraded to Win 7 64bit and it does not include Microsoft Photo Editor or any other program I have found so far that will let me resize screenshots. I copied or installed Microsoft Photo Editor to my Win 7 computer but have not found a way to get it to work yet. Therefore being that I still have a parallel WinXP 32 bit computer I copied screen shots to that computer, resized them and moved them back to my Win 7 computer where they were originally taken. The down size is when I look at them, they are not legible after they have been resized and moved back to the orginal computer. The originals before resizing and moving back are clear and easy to read. Any help for the proper tool and method of taking and attaching clear screenshots to AvSim posts with Win 7 would be appreciated. I did not see a screenshot forum on the new AvSim format (or am overlooking it), so chose to post this here to start with. If this is in the wrong place, please so inform me and move it where it belongs. Thank you: RTH

June 21, 201213 yr Win7 has a default utility program called Paint, the shortcut is in your Start>All Programs>Accessories folder. When you have what you want on your screen hit the Print Screen key, then open Paint and hit paste. After that press the Resize option under the Home menu, then select the size you want.
June 21, 201213 yr Thanks for the replies. I will certainly try your suggestion RTH One the best, and most simple, screen capture tools out there is SCREENHUNTER. It is free and can be found here: http://www.wisdom-soft.com/ You can also purchase the Pro Version if you wish. It is my primary screen grab utility. It does not resize for you or do any manipulation. You can use GIMP for that. It too is free and is just about as powerful as Photoshop. You can find it here: http://www.gimp.org/
