Cessna 185 Skywagon

Featured Replies

You know what really amazes me? Given the number of freeware planes that have been created, and given the popularity of the Cessna 185, it really surprises me that no one has ever created a freeware Cessna 185 for fsx. At least, I have been unable to find one. Does anyone know if one exists? Maybe I just missed it somehow.

I also did some research on FS 2004 Cessnas that might really be first class and port over successfully to fsx. But it seemed to me that people had not been able to find one that either was high quality, or didn't have problems when using it on fsx. Maybe I missed something there, too.

Anyone know?

It's not freeware, but Carenado has a couple of packs including the Cessna 185, it has a bush pack, along with the regular versions of the 185. They're actually really good once you install the patch and very decently modeled.

I can attest to that, they are quite good. I have the bush pack, which is I think 4 models; tundra tire, float, ski(?) and an amphibian version. Each has their own different textures, which are pretty good. I don't have any RW flight experience yet but they fly like you would expect them too. Carenado also has a normal C185 pack with a regular undercarriage, which only has one model.

Yeah I have that regular package and happy with it. Will maybe buy that tundra one at some point, when I bought regular version I didn't notice that bush one was available too... Would suit my bush flying in Papua New Guinea a bit better.
