June 25, 201213 yr Recently I d/l a new aircraft, can't recall which one, but today d/l the new T-45 and on startup (on the runway) I get a loud fast beeping sound, which I first noticed with another a/c I d/l and I would love to get rid of it but... how do you determine which sound file is making that noise w/o going through all the sound files? tks!!!
June 25, 201213 yr There are a number of possible sources. First of all, the tuned navaids will beep if you have the command set to listen to VOR1 or NDB1 and so on. But that beep will return until you turn it off. Another one could be the beeping variometer from the default glider. That one could come up at loading the plane and later climbing or descending. Maybe it was triggered to on by a key press. If you want to check all kind of sounds in FSX, that sound folder is the way to go. It's located in the FSX root folder. Each aircraft then has a separate one, but all general sim sounds should be located right there, except for some addons.
June 25, 201213 yr Most likely the aircraft is tuned to a nearby NAVAID, and the ident button on it is defaulted on. If so you'll hear morse code which is the audible identifying mode for the pilot. Most aircraft will have this defaulted off, but some don't. Look on the radio stack for NAV1 and NAV2 there should be a button to turn it off. Edit: CoolP you beat me too it  Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
June 25, 201213 yr If you're getting the sound specifically on or near the runway threshold, it may be the inner marker transmitter for that runway. The IM sends a continuous series of rapid beeps. One way to check this would be to taxi down the runway a short distance to see if the beeping stops. If so, you would need to de-select the MKR button on the aircraft's audio panel.
