I'm trying to follow this tutorial to add "FLAGSHIP" (pinnacle airlines) to my traffic x but it won't let me create a new modification... all of the powerful options are greyed out

Somehow updating the EVP helped and now I've got flagship... but still can't add new modifications... and it's calling Compass "Compass Rose" lol

When updating the telephony section, you press the new modifications button, but for some reason it doesn't open the edit box. You need to scroll down to the bottom of the list and you'll see an entry "NEW" open that up and you make your changes there. Like you say there is a entry for Flag Ship already, if you want an entry as one word "Flgship" enter Flag in the filter box, and you'll see the entry for Flag Ship. Just copy that into all 10 voices, make the text entries, and you are good to go!! Do the same for Compass. Now it gets hairy if when you search with the filter there is no match, then you have to break it up in consonants, using parts of other recorded phases.

I would but the buttons are greyed out... I can't edit anything... all I can do is import and export...

 

alright I sort of get it... pita though to make changes argh! And the filter for compass doesn't show anything - neither does come or pass or ###### (I ran out of ideas lol)

 

So I guess I'm stuck?

 

 

Can I edit the exported file with notepad somehow?

That's the community section it's non editable, it's what you load in from release. You need to make the entry in the telephony designator sub section in the My Modifications sections!

 

Edit: Actually it looks like a section setup by your My Traffic addon (Possibly others) so that its probably also non editable. Any change you make to My Modification section should take president over those sections. Remember you can have multiple iterations of a phrase in EditVoicepack so make sure you click on the "Replace existing" checkbox and set the iteration to "0" If there is more than one iteration and you want to replace or add select the appropriate number. (IE; 1, 2 etc)

Why not download an already made callsign from the library here and just change the atc_airline= line in each aircraft.cfg to FLAGSHIP?

I don't understand what you mean. I've got MTX ai and it already says Compass for atc airline. The problem is the voice readout says "compass rose." It should say "compass."

What you need to do, is export the entry for "Compass Rose" which is probably in your MTX section, then reimport it in the My Modification telephony designator section. Then edit it to print and say "Compass". Note since the entry is labeled "Compass Rose" Change the name of the import to "Compass", then you would have to make sure the atc_airline line in the aircraft.cfg = "Compass" for all the ai aircraft assigned to that airline..
