July 3, 201213 yr First of all, this is not for me. I'm not a fan. An online acquaintance in Milwaukee would like to watch the Iron Maiden plane arrive. They travel in a custom-painted 757. The last info I could find was that it had a tail number of G-STRX, but there has been some financial difficulty with the company that actually owns the plane so I'm not even sure of that. Other than typing that tail number into Flightaware and hoping for the best, are there any other suggestions from planespotters on how to find out when this plane is coming in? Thanks.
July 3, 201213 yr Me thinks those planes may not even be painted Iron Maiden anymore. They were Astraeus Airlines aircraft that were painted with just the tail and a logo so they could be painted back to Astraeus Airlines, BMI or White after the tours. When Astraeus ended operations and went administration usually you remove any copyright imagery from everything so as when those planes fall into someone elses hands they don't have that imagery on the items anymore. Therefore I am welling to bet they were removed back in or before November 2011. It would have been in the best interest of Iron Maiden to have anything removed from an aircraft after the lease agreement finishes as Iron Maiden owns the imagery. July 4, 201213 yr Im sure I have read somewhere that this aircraft does not exist any more, or does not have the Iron Maiden colours. Matthew is right in saying that it was handed over to BMI after the change. Also a quick look on Airliners.net shows no pictures of the aircraft from this time last year onwards. July 4, 201213 yr I'm a fan actually, but I really don't know...I read that Bruce Dickinson (singer) bought a company which was going bankrupt last year, and they were going to continue the operations. Not long ago, I think two months, Dickinson also bought a dismissed RAF hangar which could accomodate up to a B767, or 3 B737. I can't remember the acronym used, it was three letters standing for repair, overhaul, maintenance, etc, that the hangar will be used for. So, if we combine the two things (three actually, as Dickinson himself is a rated 757/767 captain) he is the owner of an airplane company, he's got the place to paint them, he can pilot them....maybe we'll see that 757 in Maiden colours again!! :) Cheers Fede Federico Bellato
