Life on Denali!

Maybe its just been copied over from the Denali Base Camp Charter flight from FSX ?

Bingo...

FS2020

Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

Maybe they will still do something with it, as Missions and actual bush Jobs to off-airport locations are conspicuously absent in Alaska as-released, just as the price of the Alaska scenery is conspicuously low.

Perhaps there is an additional "Bush Flying Experience" DLC on the way that expands the expansion. Or maybe they will just add a few Missions in an update. And maybe nothing at all.

I hope we get something more, as Alaska is a bit light on actual bush-flying content.

Perhaps. I thought that too but in that one there are six tents and no fire. Looks like they took to the time to keep a couple of tents make them better looking and add a fire for some reason. Could be nothing, or maybe something like an easter egg. In the first part of that mission you fly into Kahiltna Base Camp on the Kahiltna glacier, it took me a while to find the same spot in Flight, no thanks to Flight's cartoon map, but I searched and couldn't find that grouping of tents which were quite a few. So, if the tents are merely a remnant of FSX then I would expect there to be those too, otherwise why get rid of some but keep others?

Afaik the kayaker on Hawaii is only there when you fly the mission: when you are in free flight or doing a job and pass that little beach, he is nowhere to be seen. Would be a bit odd to have mission content in the game constantly. I think the tents are meant for a mission but that they left them standing there by accident.

They could also be markers for a future Alaska Aerocache - "Base Camp for Denali Climb".

Best regards.

Luis

The kayaker's fire is always on the beach, if I remember correctly. I know that I've seen some bit if the mission props there in free-flight.

I stand corrected. But will check it myself today LOL

Please do! I may be hallucinating.

And this was one of those times. I did the mission again, landed near the campfire, quit the mission and immediately pressed M again so I ended up on the same location: no fire.

But er... I regret doing that mission again, really... I haven't been back to Hawaii after the release of Alaska and er... Hawaii looks better in so much ways... Better mesh, more (dense) trees...

It looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

To all the naysayers that say Alaska (and Flight) is devoid of life! :P

Could this be a future SAR or other mission? FSX had a similar mission to this area.

Wow just beautiful pictures!!!

I took a look up there in Flight, and then did the FSX Base Camp mission to compare. Same spot, but it looks like you need to accept the optional rescue mission in FSX to see the tents. Also, it's not exactly the same camp in Flight, so it isn't just a copy/paste. Fun trip though!
