Please could you explain to me how I can achieve this:

 

I have Mytraffic X 2010 and when I Install it, even on 1% it puts so much traffic in big airports it cripples my system. So I use the default FSX AI at 20% which gives me about 8-10 aircraft in my vicinity. This is ideal as it has no performance impact at all, but means that I do need to maintain awareness for aircraft and I lose the feeling of being alone in the air.

 

Is there I way that I can an FSX basic level of aircraft, reskinned in realistic livery?

 

I'd rather have FSX AI with its imaginary livery's than realistic FPS killing ones! - to have both would be perfect!

On 60% most big airports have a realistic amount of traffic, I run GA @ 40%. On 5% the airports are empty. Are you using a 3rd party ADEX file?

Check your ...\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery folder for extra traffic.bgl's. I'm not sure how many My traffic uses but my guess is only one

One of the reasons you could be getting crippled is you need to turn off the gate animations. In the communicator under "Configure Mytraffic" drop down to configure models,exits and strobe lights. Turning off the exits will dramatically increase performance at large airports.

No, the 'MyTraffic 2010' version is the Aerosoft branded version which is older (from 2010, obviously) and a little cut down for the sake of being slightly easier to use.

I've actually formatted and reinstalled a few times, every time I do it I have the same i issue. Hundreds of aircraft at even 1% - My version is MT 2010. at 1% at Heathrow Airport I have a page of traffic that fills my screen from top to bottom, on a 24" screen! It does make a difference as at 1% I'll only get about 15 aircraft at smaller airports as opposed to 100 at 100%.

 

How do I disable animated gates? - I'm not using a third party file of any sort, basic install. Very annoying! MTX at 1% is showing about an equivelent of default traffic + GA traffic both at 100%

 

Does anybody have any idea of what I can do?
