Is this good performance or average?

Featured Replies

Looks very good to me. Which addons are those altogether?

Kind regards,

Thanks. I have been doing some tweaks in recent days. I think I hit a max in terms of performance.

As for the add-ons, the usual suspects: REX, Ground Environment, US Terrain, CLS MD-81/82 and U.S. Cities (Chicago). I think Chicago is one of the best add-ons I've seen from Aerosoft. It is really nice.

Hi,

I would say that, probably, the SB people on here with 4.6ghz CPUs are not representative of the community as a whole - There are many, many people running with Core 2 Duos, old Q based chips, original core i5s like mine.

I think your simulator experience is probably significantly above average! Do you get that level of performance with a PMDG addon, and what are your specs? Your video is something that many of us would like to achieve but for practical reasons of FPS, cannot.

If you get some free time could you make a video like that at dusk or dawn (with nice lighting) and ground traffic on? That I'd like to see :)

That's really good performance! Is that strictly simulation video or were there any effects added on, post production?

It's pretty good performance judging by the smoothness of the refresh, but then again, the Aerosoft Chicago scenery is pretty easy on frames for such a scenery, i.e. it has no night textures or other fancy stuff like that going on. Still, it's a decent package.

I think you guys make some valid points. First, I need to fly over Chicago with PMDG and take it from there. CLS tend to be lighter on frames. My flight simulator crashed several weeks ago so I am trying to get everything back in order. It helps to have ACRONIS!
