>Jan,>What settings do you use to get the wind and turbulence>sounds?> Stan Hi Stan, just crank up the turbulence sound in Sound Settings in FSHotSeat. And then you need turbulence of course :) and wind, lets say 10 knots and up. Make sure the engine sound not is set to its highest level as it maybe will cover the turbulence sound. Try it in 20-25 knots headwind and 2-3000 ft. It's a low frequence sound and pretty realistic./Jan Bergwall

I must admit that this software had passed me by until I started reading this thread. I tried the 'lite' version being interested in the AI Blast particularly. I have FDC and am trying to work out if they work together OK before forking out for FSHSfX. I'd welcome any comments from you chaps if you are running both on how they work together or otherwise.BTW...I couldn't resist editing the sound files to increase the volume. Now I get blown out of my aircraft when I'm 'holding short' and a 747 spools up for departure.....bloody amazing!

I used the demo originally and decided to buy it just to see what it was like. After buying it, I have never liked it and it merely sits on my hard drive waiting for whatever patch might be next. I could never get used to the voices, and the stupid jokes the co pilot tells get really lame after awhile. I bought S-Combo shortly after that, and recently bought Flight Deck Companion which in my opion is much better than Hotseat, more professional anyways. I also got tired of fighting with AI Blast, it only worked half the time and the sounds were somewhat redundant.

Well I have been looking at FShotseat for awhile and when the latest came out I tried the hotseat and the FSHSfx. I decided to buy the whole program. I love it! It works well with PMDG 1900D express (change fpm to 1000 or more). Sure the voice is not perfect but it works well for me. But I love hearing the sports and news read to me on the long flights.Try the demo on both. I am very satisfied.Darcy Coutts

I have not tested it thoroughly but so far FSHotSfx and FDC seem to go together fine. You might have to mess around with the setting of priority. FsHotSfx recommends a priority of above normal which I found necessary so that there was no delay between sounds (such as turning on a swith and hearing the click). On my system, I have FS9 on normal and both FDC and FsHotSfx on above normal priority and it seems to be working fine--still early but it seems fine. Randall

It's mainly a WinXP thing, though you can also do it in Win 98 but a little more complicated. In WinXp, hit ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager. Click the Processes tab which lists what programs are currently running. Right click the program and go down to set priority. This determines how much of the CPU's attention the program gets. Now, all this is really not necessary. FSHotSfx allows you to do this easily from within the program--just click on priority boost. If you use FGSAutostart by Ken Salter (I highly recommend it) you can set the priority for FS9 automatically with that program each time FS9 starts.Again, I'm not sure how much you have to mess with any of this. Things seem to be running together well--it's just something to consider should you have some problem on your system (the problem will just be a slow response from either FsHotSfx or FDC). I hope this helps.Randall

I find it works well except for the MP3 player which refuses to turn on if FDC is running. I don't hink this is going to be a problem as I wouldn't want to be using the player at the same time as FDC. And thanks for the "setting prority" thing. I didn't know about that. I'll give that a go.Cheers

I purchased FSHotSFX last week. It's a remarkable program. I've been enjoying the great AI sounds but tonight it startled me. I expect to hear AI sounds at an airport. Tonight I was flying the PMDG Beech 1900D from KALB to KLGA when I suddenly heard the scream of jet engines. I had gotten no traffic warning from ATC but turned to see a 737 outside my window! The near miss wasn't cool, but the sound was! :)Jim

SOON, ALL will be able to enjoy some of the features of BOTH FDC and FS Hotseat for **FREE** in a NEW program coming out soon! Stay tuned and stand by as I get some code finished! Also, I will be needing beta testers that speak English as well as at least one of the following: German, Italian, Spanish, French. Let me know if you can be available at [email protected] or let me know here and I will contact you as soon as I can with more details.Carmine http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/Images/wave.gif
