Goflight Ultimate Pilot system

Featured Replies

To any Goflight module owners : what is your general verdict about the GF module(s) that you own ?

After clicking the GF advert that was tantalizingly winking at me here i have become seriously interested in this little gadget :

(talking about tantalizing... )

What would your advice be ? Go ahead or stay in bed ??...

( I run FS9 and FSX on W7/64 and would prefer to use it with FS9 )

Thanks a lot for any advice you could possibly give me !

Cheers,

What are you trying to simulate? If it is a 737 -- I would go for something a little more authentic if you were going to spend that much cash. I'm saving up for the Flight Deck Solution MIP and the CP Flight MCP/EFIS.

Hello

I have never regretted for a moment buying any of my Goflight gear, great stuff.

I can only drool over that kind of stuff. I'm afraid that once i start with it i'll be at V1... No stopping anymore... ( i've had the pleasure of sitting in a full blown Engravity 737 cockpit over at the annual FSWeekend show here at Lelystad,Holland.. ) Besides, i suppose you'll need quite some knowhow about getting all this electronic devices to work properly. I'm already pretty glad i've got my computer running statisfactory...

That's why i thought these complete Goflight 'Pilot' systems sure are food for thought.

I'm thinking of using it mainly with the PMDG 747 and iFly 737 in FS9 so that's were the adjustable throttle quadrant will come in handy too.

Hello

You will need plenty of time on your hands programming that lot through Fsuipc, but its fun.

I'm thinking of using it mainly with the PMDG 747 and iFly 737 in FS9 so that's were the adjustable throttle quadrant will come in handy too.

The latest firmware for the Goflight MCP will no longer work with the FSlabs PMDG driver so you will need to script all the functions in Lua if you want the displays working.

The MCP will work out of the box with the i-fly as will the GF-46 units used for the radios ect.

Everything else will need setting up via FSuipc in conjunction with the i-flys keymapping tool or through Fsuipc mouse macros and Lua scripting

Great units and I love mine, but they are for the most part not plug and play with the majority of payware. you do need to roll your sleeves up and dig into FSuipc and Lua to get them fully working with most stuff.

Luckily for me I enjoy this bit the most.

Thanks much for your advice, maddog, highly appreciated !

I am familiar with FSuipc of course ( i 'know' Peter Dowson already from Compuserve, when the internet was still being build... ) but this is the first time i've heard of Lua.. I just googled it, all clear now. I have worked with a few programming languages many years ago and liked that a lot.

So would you say it would be a better idea to take it one step at a time, f.i. buy the GF MCP and get that to work properly first, rather then buy this complete GF 'Ultimate Pilot System' all at once ?...

In any case, i understand that it's gonna be quite the adventure to get all this stuff working. Do you have any experience with Goflight support ? Could i rely on their help if i get stuck ?

Thanks a lot again for your help, maddog ! B)

Cheers,

Jan
