Help LCDTV + HDMI Not Looking Right for FSX

Featured Replies

Hi this is my first time ever trying HDMI . I have an RCA 32" LCDTV that has 4 HDMI Port. Now at first when i connected the HDMI cable to the graphic card i was getting flashing screen all the time. I manage to fix that by setting the resolution 32 Bit BPP, 1000i, Landscape. But now the only issue i have is when start FSX an go into full screen view i get these red dots all over the place, an the problem is that only on certain things that requires the color red such as landing lights moving service truck that has any detail picture that contain the color red. I don't know if its a graphic problem or resolution problem. But here is the strange part , when i minimize fsx all the red dots are gone fsx seem normal again So i don't know if it might be a resolution problem . But here is all my display detail

Why is your current refresh rate only 30hz?

That's very low.

Y U NO show us a picture?

Set the resolution to 1080p @60hz ( or even 70hz ) which should give 1920 X 1080

The 1080i is using an interlaced display method, hence at 30hz for each alternate line.

The 1080p is a progressive display and will give a better picture at same resolution.

Also make sure to set the resolution in FSX display settings.

There could be something wrong with your video cable.

I would forget about the resolution for the moment and try using another HDMI cable (or HDMI adaptor) and see what happens.

GB thanks very much . Before i read your reply i did a little searching on google most people reported that cable was all mess up . So here i had founded kind of impossible that it would be my cable, because most simmer advice me to not get the cheap HDMI cable . So what i did was a get it from a brand that i trust such as SONY . Now when i remove the cable the little metal gold peace that holds the cable at the end had stay stuck inside the hdmi port so when i pull it out the only thing i pull out was the wire an the metal gold peace stayed in the hdmi port. I was shock to see this because this cable was new never used it until now . So as i removed it i went an try my PS3 Blue Ray HDMI Cable an what do you know my LCDTV works with any setting no Red dots or flashing screen. But i am kind of disappointed that my HDMI cable from SONY did me this . Please some one suggest me a good HDMI cable i should buy ? Give me some names ?

I did tell you I never trust eBay, lol. Just because it says Sony on the box doesnt mean anything these days, there are cheap Chinese knock offs all over eBay.

Cheers, Andy.

Never had any issue with cables from Monoprice. Cheap and good quality.

Someone will be telling you to buy 'Monster' cables next.......
