July 23, 201213 yr Hmm... I've played every day since Strato Volcano and somehow missed the Roadhouse. Is that the day they changed the timing? That may have made me miss it. But add... 7-Rainy Pass Lake
July 23, 201213 yr I flew to McGrath from Dalrymple's' date=' east of Fairbanks. The terrain sure looked a lot like east Texas and southwest Arkansas... except fewer towns and such. :) Hook[/quote'] The terrain is muskeg, at least the big river flat is, and it looks like its full of putting greens and scrub trees, but if you try to land on it or walk on it, you will sink and die!
July 24, 201213 yr ...if you try to land on it or walk on it, you will sink and die! Well, that would explain the absence of towns! :D A lot of it was flat terrain with scattered forrests. Miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles. Something I wonder about occasionally... pilots are always concerned about where they can make a forced landing if necessary. Some pilots spend a lot of their flight time looking for likely landing spots. But in the terrain you mention, there are none. Seems like a lot of Alaska is like that. "Mr. Pilot Sir, what happens if the engine quits?" "Well, they'll find us after the Spring thaw." Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
July 24, 201213 yr Is there a list of the Alaska Aerocaches already posted? I was in the hospital for a couple of days and missed the ones after the first two, I'd like to head out and grab the missing ones.
July 24, 201213 yr AFAIK, the only Alaska Aerocaches are the daily ones, so there's never more than one available at a time.
