Bought Alaska this morning, so now I can pretend I'm Maggie O'Connell, and head of for Talkeetna.

Wonder what sort of plane it was she had.

And can we get them to add 200 kilo order of bagels to the cargo jobs?

I think that was a C-140 if I recall correctly.

It was a 170, I think. Friend of a friend has one locally, been up a couple of times in it.

According to a fan site the tail number was shown in episode 3 and is N8326A which belongs to a Cessna 170B. It's been a long time but I really thought it was an old Beaver because of a scene where she was checking something under the hood. I remember a Beaver like cowling.

I stand corrected. I was indeed a C-170B.

Being a weirdo obsessive at times, I searched the net and eventually found the pictures of Maggie working on her plane. It is in my opinion very definitely a C 170B with a red and silver paint job. For whatever filming reasons they used at least two different planes. The N4423V which was 1948 vintage and the N8326A which was 1952 vintage. There may have also been another one used for the fiddling with the engine scenes.
